personally I do a lot of traveling and like to stay on top of my game.

if you buy classic items they are easy to update for new looks- could be as simple as a new pair of kicks or one or two new shirts.

jeans are jeans basically, so with that and 2 pairs of nice slacks, an assortment of tshirts, and a jacket, one or two guyaberas from a heap I have collected over the years, and I am golden. With the slacks, those can be mixed with a tshirt and the kicks for a good look, the jeans and jacket with a tshirt, the guyabera with kicks and slacks...

so you see it is more important what you buy rather than how much you buy. I rarely buy clothes, but when I do I make sure the style rocks and is versatile, that way you carry the illusion of wealth at worst, but are known for your good taste at best.
