Blackstar … yuh confusing me over the use of the term “natural” even more.

This is what I call natural (AKA ..no processing ..no weaves..no extension…no wig)




Most women I know (white, black or brown) wear the kind of hairstyle that enhances her beauty. That may entail pressing, perming and/or weaving if they so chose. I do not believe that if a woman wears her hair in the “unnatural&quot; state she is headed in the <span style="font-style: italic">wrong direction</span>. If I misunderstood you ..accept my apology in advance.. but yuh lost mi.

Huh? The majority of the pictures I posted show women with straightened or straight weave hair.

I *do* find it bizarre that (what seems to be) a huge majority of black women alter or hide their natural hair and some even claim to not even know what their natural hair looks like. Black people call &quot;pretty hair&quot; a looser curl pattern that most of us do not naturally have. On the other hand, afro hair as it grows out of the heads of most of us is often referred to as &quot;tough&quot; or &quot;bungo&quot;, etc.

Hence I find it refreshing when I see black women more accepting of the natural aesthetic as - wonder of wonders - an *attractive* style option.

ETA: Note that I use the term &quot;<span style="font-weight: bold">natural look</span>&quot; for afro type wig and weave. I <span style="text-decoration: underline">never</span> called them natural.
