i have had braids once in my life and never had a weave
although i can be high maintenance at times i lacked the patience to sit there for 7 plus hours so for once i can say that my lack of patience was
a good thing
plus mi did always too poor fi afford weave

There should always be caution when using hair weaves .. Nuff tings can cause what happen to Naomi head side and the answer is not “is the hair weave”. Most of the time is the method of weaving that can damage the hair line. If you braid your real hair underneath and the hair is braided too tight it can cause traction alopecia and some glues and bonding materials can also chemically damage your hair. That is why the clue method is so unpopular these days.
The thing with models they have to be in and out of hair at the same rate dem change dem underwear so the method of sew in is not their first choice…they will more likely go for some bonding method that requires less time and quicker take down. That is not healthy for the hair line at all.
Then some people (average Jane) wear di weave dem too long. This up to 2 months or more can damage the natural hair for lack of care during the extended period. The longer the weave in it can cause prolonged tension that cause permanent hair loss.
Type of hair (texture) plays a role in this too. Naomi hair look like it on the thin side and that texture is more susceptible to hair loss due to the wear and tear of being in and out of the weaves.

Contrary, for me hair weaving does stimulate my hair to grow. The funny things is the reason for me wearing hair weaves is because mi baff han (Yes Gen mi an yuh cousin related ) and mi hair thick and the up keep for constant perming is too costly and has incidentally damaged my hair in the past from over processing. Been there done that. I do however give my hair a break from it time to time. That is necessary.
