One thing is I wish I were more comfortable with makeup, particularly eyeshadow. When it's done well it can make you look so confident and sophisticated. I rely on my hair too much to get that &quot;spark&quot;. </div></div>

In the US you can go to the cosmetic counters during the day in the larger stores (eg Macys) and beg for instruction

Now I'll be serious and honor Miss Kia's thread

Hair - every 6 weeks for roots touch up. No styling, no cut. Just little product then scrunch wet and go. Growing my hair these days and haven't cut it in a year.

Pedi/mani - every 2-3 weeks in the Summer, every 6 weeks other times of year or as needed for special occasions. Polish on toes only. I keep my finger nails short and don't like nail polish on them.

Facial hair - every 2-3 weeks at pedi/mani place.

Massage - mussi 2 times per year

Facial - same frequency. Need to ramp dat up

uni brow to the world
uni dreadloc
pedi none since mi come here but my feet have been envied by many who go every other week (but mi have shares in vaseline, olive oil and baby oil and socks so them nice and smooth and mi cut the nails so mi can wear shoes)

maybe do facials at home to keep up with the 2x a year thing?

I do facials at home usually but I was gifted with a monthly massage ting and they just started facials so when I go for monthly massage , I add a facial.. come out stress free till mi reach home

I went natural around 4 years ago so I don't really need any help doing it. My original intent was to lock but it seemed like too much of a commitment.

What is involved in at-home facials? I used to visit a facialist more frequently but she used the glycolic thing once and my skin burned and itched for weeks!

When I do facials, I start by a boiling pot of water. I let it cool a little and then sit over it with a towel for around 5 to 10 minutes.

Next, I use a scrub of some sort. I've used all kinds from Clinique to Aveeno to St. Ives. It just depends.

Next, I wash my face and rinse thoroughly in lukewarm water. Again, the product I use just depends.

Next, I apply a mask. I've grown quite attached to one by Lancome.

After rinsing off the mask, I use an astringent or toner (Clinique, Oil of Olay, or witch hazel) and apply a moisturizer (too many choices to even try to name them).

Then I'm done.

I've tried the make your own mask things with oatmeal, honey, and what not but I can't be bothered. I'd rather save those things for eating and just buy one.

I have had professional facial but can't tell a difference so I just continue to do them myself.
