hey tilly mi know is a subject dat very touches. dats why mi approach it dis way. first of all, mi intent was not fi mek nuhbaddy feel bad bout dem hair. second, mi love my owna hair, mi love my journey and dem seh neva seh neva but mi cudden see miself doing a perm again.

but dere is still a part a mi weh can appreciate a nice perm and weh style just right. but is not for me. i know too much fi go back dere.

so all mi can seh is lissen to ur heart and do what right for u. everybody deh pon dem own journey. caw when mi did younger i had an older cousin who had beautiful natural hair. mi used to tink she just get di "good hair" from mi modda sidea di family and anyway ef she neva up inna di church like dat she could did sport a nice perm weh would long and flow down har back. dat is how i was tinking back den.

mi neva ready den. now mi ready. see me?

I don't regret my journey eidda..for mi it was more than just a hairstyle when I start to locs my hair though. I undastand when people sey "I am not my hair" and "my hair doesn't define me" or its just hair", but it is a part of who we are, it defines us to some extent. For some us who went the natural way...there is a reason for us to go back to that stage. Either wi tiad a di stereotype behind the reason why we perm or straighten our hair,etc, or we realize that we are beautiful with it nappy, curly or whatever.

If that's the case wi could care less if it fall out or pick out, but we take much pride in our hair and of course if you have a lovely head of natural hair you are proud of it, wi proud that we took that step to go through all the transition, the stares and negative comments.

Girrrrllll...a nuff comb use to bruk off ina fi mi head. Mi did have one head a hair deh, when if fi comb, not to mention wash teh whole neighborhood know. Mi granny neva use to use no conditiona, sometimes nat even shampoo, just the soso soap and the ooman use to try fi comb out the hair when it wet and tangle. When it done plait or chiney bump..the yaise, neckback farhead and the part dem reeeedddd. Do nuh talk bout the parting..the pickney dem next door use to laugh afta mi bad wid mi granny plait dem.
