I have lost enough career opportunities and a ton of money because for years I refused to straighten my hair. The Black community did NOTHING to assist me w.r.t. getting requirements re: hair changed in favour of natural hair....so the whole a you can kindly go perch and rotate and you can lead dem.

Here is the deal. When you are paying my rent and buying my groceries and I no longer have to earn my keep. You get to tell me how to wear my hair. Until then, I do what I have to do.

don't stop at just the hair...why not try to become white & blonde? it's possible with today's cosmetic surgery technology...
that will increase your career opportunities even more

As RichD promised, the war ready fe stawt again now dat holidays ovah and everyone has returned home.

There have been some battle wins. I have noticed some airport employees with natural hair at both Pearson and LaGuardia. I have also noticed a couple of commercials south of the border that had women with natural hair. I was in holiday mode so I did not write down the product.

Has anyone in Toronto seen the new Heart and Stroke Foundation commercial. I know for a fact that they auditioned a lot of women and children with:

- natural hair
- locks
- wash and wear hair (which is just as rare to see in commercials as natural hair)

Curious to know who made the cut. Did they go natural or revert to the usual pattern even though the casting director gave them NUFF natural hair options?

Never mind, I found it....they went natural. I notice they didn't use any of the Black children.

Kudos to the casting director and the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Alas, PSAs don't pay well but it is a start.
