that is what I plan to do w/ the soup and rice -- freeze them. Since I am home tonight and won't be again till friday night -- got to do it tonight.

I usually cook only once or twice a week and dats it [img]/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img]

G2, we don't have chinese stores up my way either, not like the ones you talking about. We have spanish stores and they do carry some things but not everything.

I am going to check locally and see what they have before driving the 35 min...

g2, the spansish use casava as their yam so dem nuh sell white yam or yellow yam.

I know they just opened an African store in town so I will check that out too. If them nuh have wha mi need, mi wi mek di trip a just so it go.

Hey G2 - tell me again what kind of squash it is that is like Ja pumpkin. Sweet potato, too. I tried to make potato pudding w/ sweet potatoes from my local grocery and it didn't turn out right at all.

Hoping somone will come along soon and tell me please if i can use Uncle Ben instead of brown rice (all the rice look the same to me)

also can I use squash instead of pumpkin for this recipe think I will make this tonight

yes damask to both, remember uncle ben mek brown rice to...but yes girl, an if yu use de rice in de bag

just cut up your pumpkin/squash with some onion,pepper garlic an steam/fry it dung

ok see de recipe here

1 cup pumpkin/squash
1 onion chopped
2 cloves garlic minced
1 med tomato chopped
2 table spoon margarine
salt and pepper

in frying pan, heat oil/margarine fry onion garlic an tomato with pepper, add pumpkin stir fry for about 2 mins. add about 1/4 cup water cover steam.....allow all the water to dry out....just enuff wata fi mek de pumpkin steam soft

eat with your rice
