Lemme see. Hmm....My sister's wedding in 2005. Since it was a wedding it was not the usual church hoopla. Wait! I was in a church last year July for my grandmother's funeral and in typical Caribbean fashion, the minister giving the sermon decided to &quot;allow&quot; the lord to use him to preach a near 1 hour message. The words rang VERY hallow.

The interesting thing was that I used to visit that church with my aunt when I was a little boy and it was nothing more than child abuse and I was having flashbacks. I can remember being up in there in the sweltering heat, fidgeting, bored out of my mind and having no clue what the man up on the stage was yelling about. I could not wait for my mother to come and rescue me from having to stay with my aunt.

You're right though. In or out of church, I often sit and wonder what the hell as I thinking and it is even more baffling when I consider how rebellious and annoyingly difficult I can be in just accepting things without it making sense to me.

No, No Mutty..Let me break it down for ya...There was a time when you could describe hope from the spiritual aspect. However, I know hope, in a religious context, is foreign to you at this point because spiritual awareness is non-existent. Now, this is something you may or may not have thought about in your journey from religious to non-religious. I just wondered if you have ever cconsidered what is your concept of hope in your current thought processes as it relates to your daily life or life in general. Hope does not have to be spiritually or belief based..so it is in this context I am asking you to help me understand how this would fit now in your daily life-if you have given it any thought. A little clearer? Clear as mud? </div></div>

Not really. Have some hopes but they all surround hoping to live a long healthy life to see my kids grow up ad become some thing in this life and that we all can contribute positively to society. Of course I am also hoping for a nice windfall of cash to carry some of these things out. That's about it.

That's an old stereotype that isn't necessarily true at all. There are lots of non-christians who aren't miserable, bitter, or tormented (and some professed christians who are, go figure!). It is true though that having a relationship with Jesus brings an added richness/abundance to one's life; at the very least it should.

I have a question:
Do you enjoy the feeling of when you have a religious debate- when you ask them a question, and the only viable answer they give you is when they pull out there bible and start quoting scripture---but yet never manage to ANSWER the question directly, at the same time contradicting themselves?

for example: if god &quot;created the earth&quot; and all this Adam and Eve nonsense and immaculate conception Virgin Mary hoopla (we ALL know in the scientific community-it is IMMPOSIBLE TO PROCREATE without a male donor)-how is it theres no mention of the Dinosaurs in the &quot;bible&quot; and its PROVEN th earth has been in existance for 700 million years-gee you think there would be mention of it in the bible
and the answer you will get from a christian is &quot;God put them here to test our faith&quot;
and it makes them look even more brainwashed
so what im saying is- isnt it a great feeling when you know youve proven your argument with eveidence, and the only evide3nce they have is a historic Novel
