1. Did you grow up with religious beliefs, and if so, at what point did you start to question them?

<span style="color: #FF0000">Yes I did and I began to question them from as early as I can remember: sign of things to come.</span>

2. What was so appealing about your subscribed faith (or lack thereof) that attracted you to it?

<span style="color: #FF0000">If you mean back then, it was as if I had no choice. I grew up in it and I thought I was supposed to "not depart from it," so to speak. </span>

3. Do you find yourself intolerant of people who believe in God?

<span style="color: #FF6666">Not really. </span>

4. What are YOUR thoughts on the concept of hope?

<span style="color: #FF0000">Whose concept are we speaking about here?</span>

5. What advice would you give to someone who found themselves in a crisis of faith?

<span style="color: #FF6666">Let your logical mind and common sense guide you. They will guide you better than any "faith" can. They guard you against making dumb and blind decisions. They are gnawing away at your "faith" for a reason.</span>

6. Given that you do not believe in God, do you think that His presumed non-existence is self-evident, and if so, in what ways?

<span style="color: #FF0000">Can't say for sure, as I am not an atheist. Check that. I am an atheist in relation to the Christian god and he is non-existent to me. I see that deity as nothing more than a synthesized blend of older deities and their various attributes carefully created by the Jewish people. In so doing, he is nothing more to me than a creation of mortals. </span>

Thought about that and realized I am an atheist to ALL of them that I know of but just not ruling out that there just might be an "it" out there somewhere. I just don't pretend or make any bold claims I know who, what or where it is or that it even cares that I know.

Yes, for now. I know far more about who and what I do NOT believe in. I don't know who or what is out there in this vast universe. For all I know, there might be some 2 foot midget with purple eyes, dressed in drag who speaks with a Guyanese accent at the edge of it controlling it all. I don't know, I don't have any solid evidence such a being exists or that it has any interest in whether I know it exists. I just (at this point) have not completely ruled out "something" out there. This does not mean if it showed up to me in my bedroom it requires my worship either. It might just want to know if I have Compry's number or something like that.

As for my kids, I don't tell them anything unless it is in response to a question they have. Their most common question is whether or not I believe in god. I always respond with "which one?" Of course they don't know what I mean except my 13 year old son. Someday they will get it. My only encouragement to them is that they never abandon their common sense when it comes to deities.

Do you still celebrate Christian ritual even though you don't believe in the Christian gods? what i'm trying to find out is if there is a way you accommodate christianity in your life seeing that it is part of the culture in which you live and that in which you grow up.

Also, you seem to still do a lot of reading about the origins of judeocrhistianity. what do you get out of that?
