i have it on tape because i bought some cassettes of her some years ago in Jamaica....

mi have couple a har books rung me juss now...mi wi look see if mi find di lyrics eena one a dem or eena di notes....

mi a try find mi "Aunty Roachy" book ...is a likkle book an like a spite it a hide from me....

Ms Lou...mi can juss see har eena di plaid...mi did have one too whe mi use fi wear wen mi a seh har poems....di white blouse wid di gather sleeve and di plaid...all di tie head....is a pity mi no have di outfit still...but mi love Ms Lou soooo much....

yuh kno wah .. who remember the "Lou & Ranny Show" dis was before TV .. i use to listen to it every chance i got .. they use to keep mi rollin .. been dat young i neva understand all dem jokes .. but most had me cracking up

this saying is something i have kept from those days .. give yuh de setting ...
Ms Lou send Maas Ran to shop, however him stop ah road wid him friend and star drink and forgot dat him fe get Ms Lou food for her pot she ah wonder what taking him so long went looking for him ... Mass Ran friend spot her coming and let Maas Ran know his behind in trouble ..

The Consul General called Miss Lou an outstanding daughter of Jamaica, who was loved and respected all over the world and particularly in Canada, her adopted home, where she resided for more than a decade.

She visited the island in 2003, where she was special guest of the government for Emancipation and Independence celebrations.

"Jamaicans everywhere salute Miss Lou for a life well lived. Walk good, Miss Lou," the Consul General said.
Miss Lou received many accolades and awards during her lifetime, including the Order of Merit in 2001; the Order of Jamaica in 1974; the Norman Manley Award for Excellence (in the field of Arts); the Institute of Jamaica's Musgrave Silver and Gold Medals for distinguished eminence in the field of Arts and Culture, and in 1983 the Honorary Degree of Doctor of Letters from the University of the West Indies.

The cultural icon was slated to add to her numerous awards in a ceremony at the Jamaican Consulate this evening. She would have been presented with the 2006 Jamaica Independence Award Hall of Fame from the West Indian-American Association of New Jersey. Several members of the association were enroute to Toronto from the United States, when Miss Lou passed away.

Miss Lou, who was predeceased by her late husband impresario Eric "Chalktalk" Coverley, is survived by son Fabian and many "adopted" children. Funeral arrangements will be announced at a later date."

OMG! Monday night while I was waiting at MBJ I was looking at some of her books and thinking that I should buy one or two. I was never inclined to do that before then.

May she rest in peace. She will always be one of my favorites.

Anybody whey grow up pon JBC back inna di days suppose to love Miss Lou like that favourite auntie.
To me Jamaica has never lost such an integral piece of Jamaica since Bob Marley.
Mi dare to say that miss Lou mean MORE to Jamaicans in Jamaica THAN Bob Marley. (Bob was more know to people outside of Jamaica)

Miss Lou dies is like a part a Jamaica die. Mi love and respect that woman. As a youth, mi use to remember a race up from the higglers stand (whey mi use to try sell mi fada suck suck) a Windward road and Mt View pon a saturday fi go catch Ring Ding. Watching Ms Lou and hearing har laff made a harsh day inna di ghetto that much more bearable.
Chus mi .. mi hope Marcia teck care a har.
