ASWI Breaking News

After months and months of fustration with the US based wholesaler for Sangsters bookstore, I have decided to by pass them to get ASWDI to JA via another route.

Been on the phone with Sangsters Managers since early this summer trying to get the book to the Jamaican market. After coming up with a grand plan that we think will work for us both, the Sangters Bookstore folks are planning tohave ASWDI in the stores by MID SEPTEMBER!!

I need to sign all the necessary agreements which should happen by the end of this month and we can then move forward to have the first shipment to JA. The good news is that, ASWDI will be in the entire Sangsters network in JA , i.e all locations. Thank you all for hanging in there with me (especially you folks in JA). And thank you all who have offered help and/or a prayer.

In other news, <span style="font-weight: bold">ASWDI will be coming to a Kindle and a Nook near you soon.</span>

What yuh mean yuh still have to get yours? You don;t want to get them online via Amazon.CA?

If not, you may have to wait til mi get there. I was planning to come see you and di whole CA crew anyway (mi buss mi own secret) Hoping to get there next Summer. Do you know of a bookstore name Indigo Books? I maybe doing a signing with them. Not sure yet.

If you want to wait until then fine .. I know its a hassle to make multiple orders online

there is an app (and a little device) you can use to swipe credit cards on the smart phone well mi only know bout the iPhone one.

Indigo Books are huge up here. If u do a signing with them, that would be major.

Gen .. Yes found out about it after doing some research. The guy who owns Twitter has a device called Square and I am about to order it. Just need to goh get a real good smart phone or tablet now and mi will be good go

MG - Not sure if you ordered yet... I was trying to see if I could save you some money on shipping and handling fees if you have multiple orders. Let me know if you have or have not made your order.

The Indigo thing came about when Dad called to say his co-worker took the book to them and asked them for several copies (She assumed it was in ALL bookstores). They told her they do not have that book. They were intrigued however, and asked her for details about the author etc. Obviously shi doan know mi soh shi tell Dad to call me and and have me talk to the bookstore because they have an interest in carrying the book.

I tell you, I have never worked so bloody hard in my life! Mi head a spin but it come with the territory. Anyway, shi gave me their number so mi suppose to talk to them about how to get the books there. I sure HOPE and pray it is NOT going be as trying as the Sangsters Deal. Lawks Anyway mi have time fi deal wid dem when it comes to the signing cause that cannot happen before next year.

But thanks for letting me know cause I didn't really know who they were.. so now mi know sey dem is a big bookstore. Much luv

Pep Talk TV Pre-taping Sat Aug 20th

So I got an invitation for a sit down interview with Rosie Peppy Parke, Creative Director of Peppy Entertainment &amp; Promotions this past Saturday. She told me I was going to be interviewed for 15 minutes and will be sharing the spotlight with another new Jamaican author.

I accepted the invitation with glee – the more exposure, the more people I can reach to introduce ASWDI obviously. When I got to her home where her studio is set up, there was a whole bunch of other people. Didn’t know who they were as I haven't met them before.

Long story short, Peppy had also invited other people (DC, MD and Virginia residents) separately with the intention of taping several interviews throughout the day. No Biggie cause I guess that’s how she runs her operation. BTW this was a pre-taping. The show will be aired sometime in late September. So that day I got to meet:
