the way how u tell directions by using major streets and intersections(I actually like this concept- much easier than Jamaica's)

I also had to get used to hearing the f**** word, and the s***, and the b**** word..

Had to realize how to use the subway system, and note to meslef that Downtown meant home..and uptown meant me a go lass...

had to get used to walking the street, and not saying marning, or howdy do..
People a NY dont speak to each other..

When my son was younger, he wanted a dog. Well actually he still wants a dog now.

We were living in an apt and there was no way I was co-habitating with a dog. So knowing how squeemish he is, I said, if you want a dog, you will have to bathe it, walk it, and clean up its poop. He said yes, yes...and then when I got to the poop part, he decided against it. [img]/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]

Now recently he asked for a dog. Since he is older, me just mek him know me not living wid no dog. Him seh, we could keep it outside..teng God Hurricane Wilma come and blow dung di fence. Him can get one dog when he goes on his own. [img]/forums/images/graemlins/70400-talktohand.gif[/img]

An yuh know Pepper, is not that I have anything against dawg per se, mi grow wid dawg, everybody mi know as a pickney did have dawg. But a dawg is a dawg. Dem live outside your house and bark when night come an hopefuly keep intruders from your door.

Then I reach stateside an fine dawg being treated better than many children are. I am still not used to that.
