neutral i love u're story. i can relate to what u were going through and how u felt the difference is I still got turned down 4 times and i only want to visit i don't want to live i farrin.Mi nah go back so i guess i won't be visiting. but this would make for a good book about the Jamaican migration.Comment

What a moving story of courage and determination. Your mother reminds me a lot of mine. It's amazing how strong these women are indeed! I think this is an experience many from developing countries can relate to -- the meeting with the U.S., U.K. or Canadian embassy in search for a visa.

Politically Correct means that you truly believe something, but, your belief is not popular opinion, so you use terminology to make your opinion "sound like" it conforms to popular opinion.
I was not trying to be POLITICALLY CORRECT. I truly believe that "PEOPLE ARE PEOPLE" all over the world.
Opinion #2:
2)Condescending means snobbish, haughty, arrogant, patronizing. Although your comments in the other post may not have been intentionally patronizing, haughty or snobbish, in my opinion, they were because you didn't address the fact that there are professionals that also migrate to North America, as well as domestics and nannies

There's a reason for that -- if not, why do so many leave "paradise" in such large numbers? You can't possibly think life can be a vacation each and every day in Jamaica or for Jamaicans. If that were the case, why do so many Jamaicans want to emigrate? There are HUGE Jamaican communities in the U.S. and Canada, immigrant communities looking for a better life. There's a reason for that -- if not, why do so many leave "paradise" in such large numbers?
sounds like you believe that many people from "developing" countries want to come to NORTH AMERICA for a "better" life because "you/we" (NORTH AMERICANS) most definitely have a "better" life. The point that I was trying to stress to you is that "better" is relative. Better to you may mean: a big house, a big car, a big paycheck(and no time for your kids or family); whereas better for someone else(anywhere in the world) may mean: enough food, enough clothes and enough time, love and life to be lived without deadlines, heart attacks and the never ending feeling of wanting more than you already have(which, by the way, happens to be MORE THAN enough). Did you ever think that maybe they come here because they can?? Was that the whole foundation of this country, or did I just sleep right through "Social Studies"?? I may be putting words in your mouth, but, to address the fact that there are people in Jamaica who don't have "enough" and that is why they come here-- well, there are people who were born here(NORTH AMERICA) who don't have enough. Now that's a topic
