in this coming war??.I dont seem to see much prayers so far in this predominantly chritian forum for the lives that will be lost.
whose side is "god" on?.
and if he/she will be sitting on the fence with all that power then he/she is pretty useless in my opinion.

Neutry, there have been a couple of prayer threads. I do think that those who pray are doing so. Maybe this has got everyone so worried and worked up that it's too hard to post about it--especially if such posts will encounter bitterness in response. We all feel this deeply and personally (of course, not as deeply and personally as if we were living in Iraq, awaiting the end). Our emotions are all running high right now.

I don't pray, but I haven't posted anything on the war because I don't feel like anything I say will make any difference. Words can't help us now. We can think good thoughts, send good vibes, pray, talk, sing...but, to what end? I, for one, am feeling defeated.

I know that our leaders use the name of the Christian God to justify some of their actions. In the Arab world they use the name of the Muslim God. Maybe they know that what they're doing is so awful that it needs some kind of justification. Maybe they're hiding behind God. Our leaders don't know what will happen. They're using every PR tool at their disposal to make this thing sound good. And, as we've discussed on this site many times, there's plenty of history of leaders using religion to motivate their people. You can't blame the religion itself; the fault lies with the people in power. There are no sides to this thing. All will suffer.

words cant really explain what I am feeling,I read in one of our newspapers today about the families in bagdad,the mothers and kids were leaving for the country and saying goodbye to their husbands,the wives were saying it may be their last goodbyes.

my heart really go out to the thousands of innocent lives that will be lost,and the little children that will be maimed and left orphaned.

WOW! I can actually agree. reason-THERE IS NO GOD. Plain and simple.
theres a simple answer-if there was a GOD- he wouldnt be on anyones side except peoples side-therefore, the existance of your foolish GOD to which you believe in, has no credibility in the world we live except to ease the conscience of judgemental people.Anwer this- if your God is so powerful and loves and forgives people---where is he in times especilly like this? where is he when the 3 year old down a Sick Childrens Hospital is suffering from cancer, where is your god while millions of people starve in Ethiopia and Somalia? the most idiotic thing i ever heard is telling people to pray to some invisible fairy tale god "he will help" right...the time you all focusing energy on praying to this "GOD"-you could be focusing constructive energy by helping people. instead of handing hard earned money over to a Church-you could be handing over your money to help feed starving people or money to help sick children.

I agree with you H.O,if there is a devil then he is certainly more powerful than this so-called "god",if the words of christianity were to be believed then there are more evidence of the devils` work than of gods`.
therefore either the devil is stronger,or this invisible person is somewhere cowering.

It's totally okay to ask why people give money to churches instead of directly to the poor. It's not okay to tell them what idiots they are for not acting the way you might.

I was raised as a pagan yet I always know without doubt that there is a God who made the universe. Only a fools (idiot Moran) would say there is no God.
