Oddawise, we dey pon di road an travelling at top speed to "Heart Attack Motel". Due to my line of business, mi see it everyday. It is much easier if we juss tek time out to teach!

Night nurse (oops posted the wrong name) did you miss the capitalism part? You sure did, and your are reading something into without it knowing exactly what I was saying, but then this is why I didn't say it to begin with or go any further because it probably won't make you feel any better.

If it makes you feel any better (which at this point I doubt it will) put Capitalism at the end of each of the American parts American capitalists and the Americanization (meaning the monetary and value system associated with present day American capitalism). It's a system which accentuates self interest, and self preservation, above community, and social structure, leading to people that are so self absorbed and competitive that they view others as either a product or a competitor. This type of system undermines not just the necessity, but the desire for people to interact with one another on a positive and sociably beneficial way. Hence you end up with a large majority of people running around shoving, and pushing each other try to get or be there first, just like in Wal-mart only on a community, and nation scale. and I do see it, as we convert to a more selfish based society, the break down of manners and niceties that we practiced before. but it is no longer necessary for us to have a tight knit community that depends on each of it members for survival. that is a thing of the past, now we must make more, get more, have more, and be more than those around us, and we don't depend on our neighbors, or the man on the street for anything other than maybe what we can get from him if we have a product to sell him.

Anyway that's where I'm coming from, and yes Canada was predominantly a socialist country for many years but slowly we are being Americanized and the social structure and community is crumbling in the transition to be more like that of America. I am anti capitalism.

Been to the states plenty of times (only 9 states though) and have allot of good people on the list of people I met. And there's allot of rude Sob's there too. But I notice the wealthier & greedier we get as a society, the ruder we get.
