WOW...good job peeps. ILP...dont ya just love when you get into that "groove"...I swear the hardest part of a run for me is the first mile or two...once I settle in...its pretty smooth. That is until I hit my limit.

Exed...WOW! 10 miles. Way to GO! Wish I was at the level. But...I still have 9 weeks of training time, so Im not worried. GOT TO TAKE IT SLOW!

Tonight is our twice weekly group run...hoping to do a nice easy 4-5 miles...nice a slow.

The 10 miles nearly breed mi but glad I kept going, trying to get my friend to start back running so I can have someone my age to run with.

Well ...I did the treadmill today for 30 mins ..that's all the time I had..mi seh when I done the 1.87 miles mi a tell yuh seh mi tuntid

I couldn't even walk ...mi naily drap off a the treadmill the way mi weak...and mind you I am just trying to build up my stamina so I walked half and ran the other half...

mi guh get a cup a wata at the cooler inna the gym and the way mi tuntid the wata a run but it nah ketch inna the cup..it a run inna the cooler something [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/70361-embarassed.gif[/img]

\0/ I are weak \0/

What can I do to build up my staminia..should I start out fast walking every day for 2 weeks and then start running the 3rd week ..help me out [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/70384-praying.gif[/img]

G you build your stamina by running.

i know that may sound like i am trying to be sarcastic, but that is how we all started. you run until you are too winded to run anymore, then walk as a way of taking a "working" rest. then begin to run again. eventually you will be able to run longer than you need to walk.

OK mi did think mi was overdoing it cause when mi tun off the treadmill mi naily drap dung a grung the way mi leg dem did weak..and to top it off mi do some resistance wid mi inner/outer thighs

I alternated a between jog/fast walk/running [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif[/img]

I have 3 weeks to go [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif[/img] My sister who lives in NYC encouraged me sah. She started running a year and half a go and mussi do bout 3 1/2 marathons during the winter.

Mi not even want to think of the pain and agony. Monday I set out to do the full 16 miles on the running path ... I ended up doing close to 12 miles. I couldn't go another inch. My feet felt like smaddy chap dem up and my butt was dragging. Throughout the night I was in so much foot pain, I decided no more running until weekend. I need to get a good pair of running shoes...these shoes are from last year and dem well worn.

You are on the right path though....run/walk/run a little more...as time goes on...you'll find your stamina grows.

I did 4 miles last night...good pace...lots of hills. I could have gone longer but will save my long runs for sundays and just work on form and pace during the week. I am shooting for a 6 miler this Sunday.

SandiF...your doing good....yes, get those new shoes and you will be amazed how much better your feet feel. I need some new ones too but DANG it hurts to pay the kind of money they want for a good pair or running shoes.

SPEAKING OF SHOES...

What do you guys wear and what do you like/dislike about them.

I am currently running in Asics Gel Keyanos...I like them but dont have much to compare to other than the Asics GT2100's I wore before that.

Anyone have a GREAT shoe that they swear by?
