Good evening honoured guest,
We have done our fair share of headbutting and we're still to discuss the issue of fleecing. Kudos to you for 'speaking' so convincingly of what you believe even when others (myself included) and rightly so have other opinions.
Thanks for the kudos and you can start a thread on fleecing whenever you are ready.
1. Were you aware that we share the same birthday?
Nope...but it is pretty cool don't you think?
2. Are you involved in the mentoring of anyone? How is it?
Spiritually yes, and I do find it to be an extremely rewarding experience. There is nothing more wonderful - other than someone being born again - than seeing someone take a Biblical truth and see it come alive in their own experiences. I am also considering joining my community's Big Brother program.
3. Why is a wedding band important to you? If your spouse did not want to wear one, how would that make you feel?
The band itself is a symbol but it reflects my commitment to someone that means the world to me and I would hope she feels the same way. The idea of having a spouse who would not want to wear hers is one that I cannot conceive of so I have no idea how I would feel.
4. What is the most wonderful thing about being a father?
Personally, hearing the words: "Dad, when I grow up I want to be just like you."
5. When did you know for certain that the Lord was reaching out to you? How has your walk been? What is the hilight of your relationship with him?
I think the Lord claimed me from I was in my mother's womb. Word has it that when I was born and before she left the hospital, several nurses mentioned to her that I would be a missionary. I literally grew up in the Church so I have always been aware of the call of God on my life. It however became very profound when I was 13.
My walk with Him to this point has been awesome. I absolutely love the times we spend together. He is a best friend and we talk about any and everything all the time, if you know what I mean. There are times I do not understand the things He does, but I trust Him wholeheartedly that it is for my own good eventually.
Highlights: becoming so familiar with His voice through spending so much times together that whenever I act upon a word of knowledge, in whatever form, it is something that is absolutely needed by the recipient(s) at that time. It has never failed.
6. What practical advice would you give to a wife/husband who's partner is not as commited to the christian walk ( I say practical to emphasise that I do not see prayer as a fix all band-aid.)
I do not see prayer that way either so on that we do agree. First and foremost, the believer would have to understand that marriage is a ministry, and even though the spouse may be uncommitted, the best thing to do in that situation is to minister to that person - as a spouse - in such a manner as pleases the Lord. This does not mean being super spiritual, but simply being the best spouse possible; loving, cherishing, and nurturing, while praying for. As Paul declares, through godly living, one may be able to influence change in another, and I firmly believe that.
8. WHo is your favourite in the following categories:
* - Writer of christian literature
Chuck Swindoll
* - Actor
I'll watch anything with Tom Cruise (except a repeat Vanilla Sky, which was horrible)
* - group/soloist (not restricted to christianity)
I tend to love songs and not so much performers. It would be hard to pick out a favorite group/soloist as I have admiration for quite a number of them.
* - Writer in the Bible
Paul, with Peter being my favorite character.
9. Besides church, where do you spend time away from gainful employment?
I am a bit of a homebody so I spend a lot of time at home. There are lots of things I love to do and when the mood strikes, I'll do any number of them but I love being home doing the things I want to do.
10. List ( and elaborate if you will) Ten factors/characteristics you'd like to be present in your soul mate.
Read my response to Dailybread, and see if that suffice.
11. Am I allowed to ask more questions?
Am I allowed to say "No"?
