The day after Christmas (Boxing Day) continued...

Just as my boyfriend places my plate of fried ham, eggs, orange, banana, mango... in front of me I tell him I think I need to see a doctor. He looks at me to see if this is some sort of story or joke...b/c up until this point I really hadn't said that I felt that bad. I tell him I am afraid this cough in going to turn into Pneumonia before I could get home, we still had 5 days left in Jamaica and I wasn't getting any better on my own. He and his mom start talking about medical centers that are open and Stretch gives us directions to a doctors office in Halfway Tree. All through breakfast my boyfriend is being told directions to both the medical center and a pharamcy, each time he is told another turn or round about is thrown in the directions and I began to think maybe going to the doctors was too much of a pain. I sit in silence and enjoy every morsel of food in front of me, in fact for the first time the whole trip I clean my plate. [img]/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]

After eating I decide I feel a little better and say nevermind to the doctor. As I cough into my napkin I tell Big Red and his mother that I am feeling better, that I just needed to eat. It wasn't a total lie... I did feel slightly better.


We decide that after breakfast we had better exchange Christmas gifts, with all the events from the day before we hadn't exchanged presents. We all sit in the living room and exchange presents. It was hard for me to buy gifts for his family, I mean, I had never met them before. Big Red had told me his mother likes to read a certain type of book and that Camille loves the colors green and purple. I bought his mother some Tom Clancy books and really yummy lotion from Bath and Body works. I also bought Camille some green and Purple lotion and bath stuff from Bath and Body works. They bought me some really nice things from the Bob Marley museum including a really nice smelling candle, that I have been burning ever since I got home.

Shortly afterthe gift exchange we are showering and getting ready to say good by. Big red and I head off to Negril and Strertch heads home to Portland. I ask Stretch if his family will be upset with him for sppending Christmas with us in Kingston instead of with his own family... he just laughs and says they may be a little upset but he runs things over there so it is of no concern. I laugh and Stretch and big Red carry my bags out into the trunk.

We hug and thank for the endless amounts of food, we tell Stretch to drive safe, and we tell Big Red's Mom that we will be back on Sunday, in time for dinner. [img]/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img]

Once we are in the car Big Red and I talk about the visit with his mom and I feel that things went fairly well. I had managed to let my personality out some and got Mrs. Red to laugh at some of my stories about Big Red. I also teased Stretch and Big Red as I normally would, and Mrs. Red got a kick out of that. At one point she made the comment hthe comment that I couldn't have been feeling to bad b/c I sure had a lot of spunk. So I know some of my personality came out.

We start the car, pull out of the driveway, and start the long drive through Kingston to Ochi Rios over to Negril. I slept most of the car ride but managed to take a lot of pictures along the way. All I have are the few from my boyfriends camera.

I am coughing the entire car ride and Big Red has to stop a buy me a couple bottles of water. My throat was so raw from all the coughing that trying to drink anything other than water was just murder. I was dying to have some fresh squuezed orange juice or fruit punch but my throat couldn't handle it, water was all I was able to drink. [img]/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img]

We stop at a jerk place in Ochi and decide to get something to eat. Big Red orders a plate of Jerk Chicken and I eat french fries and festival. I wanted so badly to eat the jerk but after taking one bite I knew my throat couldn't handle it. I ate my fries and decided to take a secind round of tylenol cough/sinus medicine. I had taken sone earlier in the morning and it had helped me some, I thought I had better stay on top of it and take two more. It had been about 6 hours since the first dose and I figured, even though I didn't have the box so I couldn't read how to take the medicine, 6 hours was enough time between doses.

We had made it by about 8 police speed traps up until this point. Each time we slowed down just in time to make it through with no problem. We were minutes from Negril and our hotel when we got caught in one. I sat in the car while my boyfriend got out and spoke to the 4 officers that were standing on the side of the road... I snuck pictures from my passenger seat, I mean what are girlfriends for if not that!

Finally, by about 4 in the atfernoon we are in Negril and checked into the Negril Tree house. I have never stayed in Negril before and let Big Red do all the work when it came to finding a place to stay. We check into our room and change into our swimsuits, we don't care how little sun there is left, we are going to get some of it.

We go out on the beach and fall asleep in the sun it was so nice. I have never layed on the beach in Jamaica with a boyfriend before... I was amazed that I still heard so many Psstt!! Pretty lady!!! Princess... type calls. But still, it was far less than I would normally hear and once they saw I was with someone they promptly left me alone.

After laying in the sun we decide to go in the room and shower, we were both starved. After our showers Big Red goes out and gets us some food, he brings me back fried chicken and steamed veggies. I eat up every single bite. He also has hard dough bread and cheese for us to snack on later.

After dinner we talk a walk on the beach together and snap some pictures, we also have a very nice talk, and things get mushy. We really were enjoying spending so much time together and now that we were in magical Jamaica together, walking the beach together, it just felt wonderful. We talked about marriage and our future together. It was never so clear to me, as it was that first night in Negril, that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with this man. He felt the same and we walked down the beach with an incredible amount of love between us. Even my coughing hurt less as we walked the beach, I think it is cause my heart felt so good.

Atfer the walk we sat onthe beach and talked and laughed some more. The tylenol medicine was wearing off and I knew I needed to get some sleep. My body was exhausted and being in the sun hadn't helped much.

BB - I am surprised that even though u were sick your memory is still so sharp. I had the flu a couple weeks ago and it was five days of bluuurrr. [img]/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif[/img] I felt like my body was just existing through those days.

I am happy that you remember though cause I am loving this report!

I guess its also safe to say that the person in the first picture on the lrft is Big Red??? DUH! [img]/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]
