Hmmmm....I heard on a Christian radio station last night that only 7% of *born again* Christians tithe. Obviously enough Christians aren't buying into this 10% or curse statement.

I'm just getting a chance to weigh in on this subject. Interesting that a number of people make reference to the law, yet do you guys realize that under the Mosaic law there were 613 commands, of which a whopping 365 were prohibitions? These 613 commands fell into five basic categories: criminal, civil, familial, cultic (laws dealing with cleansiness), and charitable. In many of these cases, the statues have ethical connotations and not moral ones. In other words, they may call for a higher level of conduct, even under difficult circumstances, although to follow an inferior course of action would not be considered immoral. A couple that comes readily to mind are the statutes in Exodus 21:2-6, 35-36, and 23:4-9.

Persons who keep pointing to sections of the law as still being applicable, need to explain how they decide which portions are to be discarded, and which portions are to be kept. The premise as it relates to the keeping of the law is that whosoever has offended in one, has offended in all, therefore it means that all the laws (and commandments) have to be kept to be in right standing with God. There are any number of ethical principles (and other laws) that were given to the children of Israel, and everything had to be written down because the law of God was not written in their hearts.

The book of Deuteronomy - from which the scriptures dealing with women wearing pants was taken - is the book of Second Reading, which is basically a reiteration of the Old Testament Law - the commandments, statutes, and judgements - including statutes for ethical behavior. The Law, though good, became a curse (Galatians 3:10) which Christ redeemed us from when He took that curse upon Himself (Galatians 3:13).

To justify a certain point, somone said God does not change and quoted a supporting scripture. The basic premise is true, but how then does one reconcile Matt 5:17 where Jesus said: "Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil."? The word translated 'fulfil' actually means "to satisfy", "to make full". Basically, the laws were now made complete in Christ, and we see the transition from Law to grace in the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5-7), which is basically the new constitution of Christ's kingdom.

In the early Church, some of the Jewish brethren tried to mix the tradition of the Law with the gospel and Paul addressed this: "As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: "Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving. Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power."

What does that have to do with wearing pants? There are no biblical prohibitions. The female who chooses to do so is not immoral, nor is she committing a sin.

In other words, all Christian television. Well people like Rollin Calf and I are taking tips because we are going to start a church soon so we can ease people from the burden of their money and pass it unto the lord. There is no truth to the rumor we are planning to imitate that reverend in New York City that claims he used to toss the bags of money up to the roof and whatever stayed up there was god's and whatever came down was his.

breeches, britches, and girdles are all undergarments .moreover it appears these intructions were meant for the priesthood .Take the word girdles(exodus 28;40) ,today it is consider the undergarment exclusive to females .If i follow correctly then we who go to church should all be wearing the "robe of ephod" with a bell and pomegranate on the hem ( exodus 28;31-35). I myself have never seeing that being worn to church, would be quite a spectacle .That whole chapter it seems is dealing with the garment the high priest should wear

My point being these are all outdated instructions that have very little relevance to today .

Of what consequence is it if some one decides to wear the clothing of the opposite sex ? whom does it harm ? . Good deeds and "good thoughts" is what is important .

I hear it being said in some quaters that that we are no longer under the law but grace what pray tell is your definition of this grace ? to me it basically means free for all .

Deut.22:5.


The clothing that the scriptures are talking about is like a man wearing his wife clothing, or a boy wearing his sister clothing, not necessarily one that look like it, like men jeans and women jeans. You must remember that during the time of our lord, all the people wear the same kind of clothing, gown, looking like dress.

I never know that people would be still stuck up on what clothing to wear, i think they get over that.

The real problem is that people still do not understand the doctrines of salvations, what is required of them! that is why they stil stuck up on these small things of no concern to God.
