I have found another board where I am freely accepted and although there is controversy on it also, they don't bash so many people like this one does. I don't mind controversy. What I mind is the in your face we only know the right answers attitude.

seriously, me learn sey some people are more sensitive than others but yuh juss haffi be a likkle more tolerant and nuh tek dem sayings/actions to heart. Juss level de vibes and cut and guh thru same way

I learned that, by and large, Jamaican people are still more hospitable than most...that when we dash away the visual barriers...most people really can get along...and that collectively we have far more in common than many people might actually care to/want to admit.

Still...I learned that a certain grouping of people [not mentioning any names] that I would have bet money had, collectively speaking, an open mind...really don't.

I learned that some people can be easily fooled and that they seem to like that.

I learned that, in the final analysis, this site is still quite meaningful and I'm glad I am a member/citizen. [img]/forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif[/img]

Well for all the newbies that feel that they are being bashed down we do not want you to feel like that.

I have learned that you really can love people you don't know..

I have learned that people really do hide behind their screenname and they can be whoever they want to be..even if just for a few hours.. before they go back to their "real life"...

I have learned to be nicer to people cuz thier feelings really do get hurt over the internet (this was a shocker to me a few years ago)

All of the above is absolutely true!!!
Also, no matter how TRUE it may be, NEVER EVER discuss one thing about a Jamaican or Jamaica on this board, that could be "considered" negative. Don't go there! Not even a TRUE experience!

Learned to read and write patois better.
Learned the meaning of Ja. proverbs I've heard.
Met some really nice people.
Gathered a lot of good info in the Health Forum.
Didn't have to come in here to learn to ignore people, but get to practice it more.

I've also learnt that Jamaicans have a huge impact overseas . "Wi likkle but wi tallahwah" (sp)
