I agree with r`plus,it was all a bloody fake,but I dont believe it was for money,I believe it was more to impress the russians about what the americans were capable at,at the time.
the cold war was raging,and both countries were locked into a spiral of technological upmanship,the russians were actually in the lead with space travel,but as usual,the americans had to "win" at all cost,...rather like their athletes taking steroids to win races,they cheated.

its intriguing how the usa is supposed to have walked on the moon as far back as the 1960`s,but over forty years later their space programme is far less superior than it was supposed to be then.
their numerous efforts to put people in space has all but ended in utter failure.

They even set up the Apollo 13 as the token failure so as to make it seem that going to the moon was not a sure thing every mission.

You have to wonder! America sends 21 men on a mission to the moon in relatively short period of time even in terms of today's launch schedules. 18 of the 21 reach their objectives with little or no trouble while only 3 are forced to return home early unharmed.

Not to mention the computations that would need to be made by those computers "back in the day". It is estimated that the car you drive today has more computing capability than was available to NASA back in 1969.

bandy,I dont think they lied about slavery at all,...they`ve completely denied it ever happened.

as for the holocaust,suffice to say that future generations will be told about it long long after slavery is a mere footnote in the history of mankind.
