After watching both bush and kerry kerry was by far the better of the two I am now in the kerry camp this will be my first election for president that I will vote for the democrat


I will run to the polls and Vote for Kerry.I No in my heart of hearts Bush Is evil to the bone.I he has done nothing but cheat to be elected the day he took his oath was a sad day. America did not vote him in the Supreme court did.He forced himself on America and since has done nothing worthwhile beside kill hundreds of people.Lie to the world in order to do that.It amazes me how some overlook that.I am sick of hearing about these polls Kerry will win because America will prevail and he will answer for his lies...................


In July I was firmly in the Bush camp, but my opinion of John Kerry has changed a lot - when you see the two men debating, Bush doesn't even believe the stuff he's saying himself, while Kerry looks relaxed, confident, intelligent and well-informed. Even former Republicans are saying to me that Kerry has been a dark horse - he's just BETTER than Bush

Having said that, let's not think the war was a spur-of-the-moment decision. It was planned YEARS AGO, so ANY incoming president would have been on board.

So, if he didn't want to get involved, he wouldn't have become president.

One-Quarter of Working Americans Live in Poverty, Study Finds


WASHINGTON - More than a quarter of American working families -- or nearly 39 million people -- have trouble making ends meet and can be qualified as poor due to a fast shrinking pool of well-paying jobs, according to a new report.

The study, coming on the eve of the third and final presidential debate between President George W. Bush and his Democratic challenger, John Kerry, was likely to add fuel to the already heated political campaign, during which Kerry has been accusing Bush of outsourcing good American jobs.

"The president does not seem to understand how many middle class families are being squeezed by falling incomes, and spiraling health care, tuition and energy costs," the Massachusetts senator stated just last week, pointing out that 1.6 million private sector jobs had been lost in the country during Bush's nearly four-year term.

Although the report, compiled jointly by the respected Annie E. Casey, Ford and Rockefeller foundations, refrained from direct partisan blame, it appeared to back Kerry's argument by insisting that "our society has not taken adequate steps to ensure that these workers can make ends meet and build a future for their families."

A total of 28 million jobs, or almost 25 percent of all available in the country, can no longer keep a family of four above the poverty level, the study found.

Even education beyond high school is no longer a shield from poverty: as many as 3.9 million low-income working families have a member with some post-secondary education, the report said.

To be considered low-income, a family of four had to earn less than 36,784 dollars in 2002, according to government standards. The median income for a family of that size was 62,732 dollars that year.

I didn't see that movie. I do know that failed leaders often rely on war to rally citizens against a usually fabricated enemy. By entrenching 1/4 of the population in poverty or near-poverty, the administration is ensuring that the US has enough cannon fodder 9who the majority don't care about) for years to come.

People should also realize that their involvement doesn't stop after 2 November. If Kerry is elected, I think he and his administration would be more "sensitive" to grass-roots movements for the environment, civil rights, education, etc. As we have seen, Bush/Cheney couldn't give a rat's bottom. It's up to the people to keep the pressure on.

Washington, DC - In an assessment of the civil rights record of the Bush administration, the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights released a draft report that concludes the administration has failed to exhibit leadership or define a clear focus, relegating civil rights to a low priority.

The report, Redefining Rights in America-The Civil Rights Record of the George W. Bush Administration, 2001-2004, analyzes scores of policy reports, scholarly papers, briefs and executive orders to chart the administration's responses to a broad spectrum of civil rights issues. Similar criteria have guided evaluations of previous administrations, including the civil rights review on former President Clinton released in 2000.

Some highlights of the report include:

* Voting Rights: The Bush administration did not provide leadership to ensure timely passage and swift implementation of the Help America Vote Act (HAVA) of 2002. As a result, Congress did not appropriate funds for election reform until almost two years into the administration.

* Equal Educational Opportunity: The No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB) does not sufficiently address unequal education, a major barrier to closing the achievement gap between minority and white students.

* Affirmative Action: Instead of promoting affirmative action in federal contracting and education, the administration promotes "race neutral alternatives," in many instances not applicable and in others not overly effective at maintaining diversity.

* Environmental Justice: EPA has taken few actions to ensure disparate impact of minority communities to environmental contamination.

* Racial Profiling: The administration responded to the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks by instituting regulations that facilitate profiling rather than prevent it. Immigrants and visitors from Arab and Middle Eastern countries were subjected to increased scrutiny, including interviews, registration, and in some cases removal.
