Milo Man - you are always a voice of reason. I married an American and lived in Ohio for several years. We returned to Toronto a few years ago. Every so often I miss some of the people and places I enjoyed while living in Ohio. Then things like this election happen and I'm totally amazed. How can such a man be put back into office? How can a state of intellligent people make Arnold Schwartzenneger (sp) governor?

Yes we have cold winters, but we have gorgeous summers and fall, beautiful lakes and cottage country and slamming sities with world class cultural facilities. And best of all, we have a multiculturual population that works AND lives together.

I too kiss the ground and thank god for the excellent health care and public (Catholic) education my kids and family enjoy.

Not at all, Milo Man.

In fact France has Carrefour. They don't seem as monopolistic as WalMart though and inside the stores is much tidier. [img]/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img]

WalMart is the biggest retailer for sales and revenue and Carrefour is number two, with more stores in more countries than all its competitors.

While less controversial than WalMart, the French retailer does have very dodgy business practices with regards to its suppliers and employees.
