What are some of your vivid memories you had as a child growing up in Jamaica..

I remember rolling up red hibiscus flowers to use for markers in hopscotch.. [img]/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]

I also remember shining the red floor wid coconat brush..

cleaning di floor consisted of: Sweeping, den mop, den afta dat dry, yu polish, an den yu shine...

mi nuh know if mi fi laaf or bex [img]/forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif[/img]

di bus ride fi go home afta school, how we use to hang out at sovreign center or devon house,nuff likkle school get togather, how we use to tell lie pon wi age fi get into the movies or night club, satiday day when yuh just clean yuh house and listen to yuh music and wait pon soup fi finish cook, sunday day when yuh listen to yuh oldies but goodies, or deh watch profile, wait pon sunday dinner,rice and pean and fish wid carrot juice wid guiness inna it, and yuh veggie pon di side

..when two "Transit" (or Transmitt) bus was the major transport from portmore to kingston.
then a man name "Mr. Roy" converted was Hino truck into a two door bus.
Mi remember seeing him driving the truck withouth any body or cab (chassis and engine only) thru the streets a breaton.
soon after him use sheet metal and build him own bus.. later it became Little Concorde.
Yuh did have Concorde, Big Concorde, Super Concorde and Supreme Concorde. I think Super and Supreme Concored was made from some rathid leyland trucks. It was facinating as a school youth to watch "Daley" the driver flip the switch and change thru all 14 gears inna di bus as we drive to Half Way Tree..
