I'm Jewish, by birth, but didn't you know (or remember) that I'm also an adult convert? I was baptized in 1990.

I've crashed (again) and am on suicide watch. Anti-depressants, anti-anxiety meds, and sleeping medication (to sleep at night). *sigh* I've just barely averted staying OUT of the hopital. And that's not certain, yet. I can't be left alone. Mr Witchy's home today (and yesterday). Monday... dunno what Monday will bring, yet. I'll have to find smaddy to 'babysit' me or else we'll go broke. [img]/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img]

Life sux.

Oh, yeah... Passover comes very late this year: end of April. Right before my birthday (if I make it to my 43rd).

I'm soon off to church myself. Was there 'till midnight last night. Back at noon.

I'm going back before 3:00, and will stay until after Stations of the Cross (at 6opm). So, I'll probably get home after 7:00 or 7:30.

I'm going to a new church these days. It's Catholic, but not (currently) still under the auspices of the Roman Church. We do things the "Traditional" way: Traditional Latin Mass in the old Tridentine (pre-1962) way. The priest is ROman, but sent to serve us anyway. When Saint Anthony of Padua was formed (by rebel parishioners of Saint Venantius in Orange, and a rebel priest, Father Paul Wickens), they were ALL excommunicated (back in early 1980). When Father Wickens passed away last summer - still unreconciled with Rome - "they" decided to try to reconcile the parish and it's people to Rome, and they sent Father Perricone. He's Roman Catholic, and still "within the fold", and he's been walking a tightrope ever since. A little over half of the parishioners walked out last summer, going to the next "Traditional Latin" church, which is nearly 40 miles away (in south central Jersey), leaving the rest here in West Orange.

I walked in a few weeks ago. I'm still uncertain if this is the right church for me... but I'm still considering it. I like the Traditional liturgy, the Latin Mass, and the traditional ways. I don't like certain other things, though... (the things that have kept me from seeking Reception into the Roman Church in the first place)

Women still cover their heads in church. Reverent silence is still maintained. The liturgy is left as it was, unstained by Vatican II b-s. Skirts or dresses are the only acceptable form of dress for ladies - no slacks. Children are left to their own devices so long as they are quiet. All that's fine with me...

Of course, there are no women doing anything liturgical... No place for ladies too close to things Holy. It's very male-dominated. That's not so fine for me...
