I read that interview that is why I was shocked to read aobut this divorce business I thought she was down to earth enough to say things are not fine without giving details. I don't know. Nobody dont have her number please? just kidding!

The story is a hoot simply because she claims to have "gotten her groove back." "Getting your groove back" means having a great sex life. Many of us really doubt if one can have a great sex life when your partner is gay and you aren't.

Agreed NattyDG. But I believe the jigaho market blew up overnight after the Stella book. I travelled the Caribbean before and aft Stella and the difference was ridiculous.

I for one was never a wanna be Stella even though my husband is Jamaican. You see, there is a difference between Stella and I. Again, she was looking for her groove and I never lost mine. When I first went to Jamaica I didn't go in search of a man because there are plenty of men right here in America including Jamaican men and I have dated Jamaican men right here in my own country.

I don't live in Stella's world I live in my own world. I also don't play games like follow the leader because I am a leader not a follower, and right about now I wouldn't even want to walk in Terry's shoes with all the problems that she is encountering with her husband and the big court battles. Plus my husband isn't gay, hey, every female knows the finger test! That will let you whether he is a real man or not if you are ever in doubt!

When I first came to Jamaican I found it to be a very fascinating place with such breath taking beauty, and since I love history so much, I took an interest in Jamaica and fell inlove with Jamaica thoughout all my travels there. I then began to dive into the history of Jamaica and it's culture. Not eveyone run to Jamaica insearch for her Winston and that certainly was not the case for me. My husband even makes the statement that I love Jamaica more then I love him, Geezzzzz I got it bad for Jamaican don't I. So marriage was the furthest thing from my mind but it happened.

Now that I am married I don't believe in fairy tales and too mature to believe in the hype. When it comes to my husband and I, we deal with what is real; and with all of life's ups and downs we hold on tight to one another because we love each other realizing that the devil is always busy trying to break apart what is good(outside people). So no, I am not a Stella wanna be I am just me, doing my thing and living my life the way I want too no matter how anyone sees it.

I am in no way trying to be sarcastic or mean, I am just letting you step into my world for minute allowing you to see things from my point of view. Peace and Blessings Princess1

Princess, I wasn't implying every island romance is a Stella wannabe - I am talking about the women who (post Stella) went to Jamaica specifically to get their groove back.

Likewise, not all Jamaican men who date/marry farin women are jigolos. Again, I was only referring to those who do it with the hopes of financial gain, citizenship, etc.

Like you, my first trip to Jamaica was strictly about the travel - beaches, different foods and fruits, relaxation etc. The trip reports people post lead me to believe that most people who post for a long period on these boards are not Stella wannabes or jigalos.

It is the flash in the pan posters who post details of this wonderful attentive Jamaican man they met, then the next post they are asking about cheap phones cards, next they are asking how to wire money, next they are asking about spousal Visa applications... then suddenly you don't hear from them again.
