What you must understand Tigrrr is that many Jamaicans love to eat the fish's head too.

Most Jamaicans would take offense if you served them fish without it's head.

I`ve seen people arguing over fish head in jamaica,but I really cant see what the attraction is,it`s got no meat on it,and it looks horrid...eeeuuggh!!

Yes Q, as you have told them, if we talking about SPRATS, which was my favourite snack, the head is fried with the rest of the body. Sprats are usually fried crisp and the head is the 'crispest' part which is eaten with the head going in first and if there are any bones, they are automatically chanelled out at other side of mouth. Fish with pepper going in one side while bones comming out the other, thats how I remember doing it, some guys were pro at it, And of course beers or whites to wash dem down.

jamaicans usually cook a specific type of soup on Saturdays made with beef, pumpkin and other stuff it's to die for. Potato puddung is made with jamaican sweet potato, what we North Americans call yams, you know those yams we use to make candied yams. I do believe those sweet potatoes in jamaica are indigenous to jamaica or the tropics. yams in North America taste different
