flying fish and coo coo, also the pudding and souse were good. Dem caan cum near de jerk dish dem like we.(Ja)Dem certainly a try. Dem like breadfruit boil or mek inna coo coo but when mi roast one wid some saltfish everybody lik dem mout. (I visit at least once a year.)

Great,I really wanted to try it in FEB, but of course I HAD to book another trip to Jamaica, but Barbados is on my list for a maybe in July, I would love to find out all I can about it, any info would be appreciated!

One thing me haffe stress doe is that Barbados is expensive..
Me ould be doing an injustice by not stating dat..
The exchange rate is only $1.98 for the US dollar and $1.40 for the Canadian dollar..
When u add dat up and go to the store, you money noh goh too far.... and the cost of living is high there. Me never know dat.
Dem haffe KFC der, and the cost for 2 piece of chicken, fries and soda is 14.99 equivalent to almost $8US dollars.... and the people dem buy it...and pay the high price fe fast food..

Me cook macaroni pie, fried breadfruit, codfish cakes (hot and spicy - bajan styleee..) and brown stewed dolphin (fish)..

I wondered too about the tourist thingy...Natty..
but me tend to tink maybe yes and maybe no..
The locals (and yes, me chat to dem fe hours, cuz a soh me stay.. )tell me bout the cost of things..
they were also helpful in letting us know where to go for some of the local stuff..
The hotels I found (at least the one I stayed in) served mostly american stuff, and I just wasnt having that
I noh come so far fe eat american food?
I can have dat any ole day!...
So I asked every and anybody, where the local things dem deh..
Me get answer fe go a Bridgetown (the capital of Barbados) and shop fe food, and me get answer fe goh a Oistens (thanks L..)
But sorry, that was a sight to see, (Oistens)with cole pot stove with 12 inch fire blazing outta it..
but me did just ketch there and that was the first place told to us to try..and we did..
We - no - let me rephrase that- *I* was so tired, that I saw the things with the fire and cole pot blazing and was so amazed that I forgot that I had a camera in me bag, and missed taking pictahs...
but just understand the *marlin steak* tasted like meat, that I didnt even realize that I was eating fish!...different, cuz I have never had that before, but good..
