yu ever watch some of these kids playing the video game mortal combat or anything close to that and see as they slice off someone hand in glee or reach in an grab out their opponents internal organs as the voice cries out "Finish him"!?

The film was an excellent one IMO.
If u r a believer in Jesus Christ and the fact that He died for your sins then you will leave with a greater appreciation of what He went through (bearing in mind that this is a movie and may not be 100% accurate, it still drives home the point). If you are a non-believer with an open mind, you will leave perhaps wanting to learn more about Jesus - His life, His ministry, His death, burial and resurrection. If you are a non-believer going just to see what the hoopla is about or going just because - u will leave stating it was an ok film and no big deal.
Not everyone will experience or "get it". But those who do, really do.

I saw the movie again yesterday with about 20 youth from our church. I even took my 8 year old which I wasn't going to do after watching the movie the first time..
Our young people were touched yesterday...it was an awesome experience for all of us and each and every one of those young people walked out with something... even my young son.
After the movie we sat there for a bit and talked about the movie..people were starting to come in for the next show but we were not to be rushed..we had to pray and what an awesome sight 20 or so young teens and a few children under 12 holding hands, praying in the front of the movie theatre.
I saw this movie on Saturday night and before I get to the meat and potatoes I would like to say that I was truly amazed to find out that the 8:15 and 10:15 showings were sold out at 7:30, to add this movie was being showed on 4 screens each time.
My opinion of the movie is very simple. What I saw more than anything is that no one can come in contact with Jesus and still be the same. This was depicted from the beginning of the movie to Him being on the cross. Even at the cross (aside from the sins being layed on him)He was still changing people's lives.
I cried a lot during the reflections. I began to take a look back to where Jesus brought me from and what I could've been. It just brings in memory the song 'roll back the curtains'. I just have to give Him thanks and praise for His grace and His mercy.

u know if is juss for that moment that this happens then it shows that there is hope and potential in people....now if we could harness and continue the feeling....the suffering of Christ came alive in ways i had never countenanced it before...reading the chapters in this Lenten time has a whole different atmosphere doesn't it...ah sah....

So very true (((Evan))) in particular the flash back of "The Sermon on the Mount" where he taught to love your enemies. I mean to say if Christ could endure that much suffering (howbeit I still think it was overdone) I can certainly forgive others. The other thing that I came out feeling was a feeling of freedom (can't explain that) but somehow seeing the portrayal of Christ hanging on the cross brought home to me the deeper meaning of being forgiven, that our sins have been pardoned, and also that Christ has overcome satan from whom all fears and anxiety originate, and somehow that helps me to feel even more secure that God is in control. For that much I must say the movie has done something postive for me. Yet I am still angry with the crowd that no one took pity, and dismayed by the portrayal of his mother just whimpering along, [img]/forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif[/img] Still suffering from post traumatic stress and I can't seem to shake the feeling of guilt and denial. Now that is from the heart, which is separate from my objective critique of the movie. So folks please save your criticism everyone is entitled to express how the movie made them feel.
