I don't know Jedi... you cut and paste these proverbs from the Bible that thousands, millions, of people have read, and yet there is no discussion, no give and take, no reasoning.

Here you paste up this Psalm that I guess you consider a promise. Don't you think that EVERY Christian relies on this promise, when a crises hits their life? Does your god "always rescue?" Does he always provide a "long life" to those that love him?

I don't know Jedi... you cut and paste these proverbs from the Bible that thousands, millions, of people have read, and yet there is no discussion, no give and take, no reasoning.

The idea is to bring back to rememberance the promises of God. Not too many millions of people reading this thread are in the habit of reminding themselves of the promises daily, the same is the purpose behind a daily devotional or prayer thread. It is to give encouragement and to bring back to rememberance those things which we have already read and in some cases to help others see what God says in His word by way of reassurance to the believer. And if you read the beginning of this thread as well as the prayer thread no one is restricted from posting a promise nor is discussion restricted to just the thread starter

No I don't think they recall these promises even though they may be relying on God. But reading it again, comforts us in our time of need, aren't soothing words a comfort to you when you are stressed out?

God is a person hence the capital G, gods refer to things or mortals that are worshipped. I have no gods. But if you are asking me if God "always rescues, yes He does whenever we call on Him He rescues us.

Just remember that God's promise of "long life" goes beyond our mortal existence, so yes He provides more than long earthly life He provide eternal life.
