Re: 1 in 25 priests a pedophile!
I never said that everything is on the net. "Link us up" is a phrase that has been in use for years prior to the net's widespread use. It is rather "amusing" that you have such a misconception.
The net IS an easy place to post ideas, writings and published works. If you do not wish us to know what you wrote then do not crow about publishing anything. Clanging a gong can sure draw attention but it can also cause a headache when done simply to make noise. BTW My daughter published a book...while in elementary school.
Christianity is not a physical concept. The church is not either. The building that I sit in to worship God is brick and mortar and with it comes all of the necessities of upkeep and administration to keep people coming to church. The organization runs the physical plant and employees (including the pastor).
The Catholic church shed many, many "churches" (a misnomer). A lot of those "churches" were bought by other Christian denominations, antique dealers, people wishing to turn them into homes, etc. Are they now part of Christianity? No.
If you are indeed a professor, does whatever you say go as far as being policy for whatever college it is that you are an employee? If you suddenly declared that only black atheists were allowed to attend would that now be the policy? You could protest, scream and go on a shooting rampage to try to force your ideas onto others. Would it work? No.
Just as racism is not an organization neither is Christianity. The KKK is supposedly a Christian organization but they are not. Ideals are commonly thought to be "gospel". Are they? No. They are born of man's imagination but is man infallable? No. (As a matter of interest check out the "Atheist Station" where the members declare themselves to be a church...replete with tax exemt status as indicated by the .org address)
If you are indeed ashamed to be of the same species then perhaps it is time to step down from your pedistal and join the rest of humanity. Nobody even notices you up there anyway. BTW that is not really meant as a slam. It is true of all of us at some time or another.
Interjecting ones ideas into Christianity does not make those ideals right. Christianity does not change...only people do.
