I am glad you raised this point M/G. From my limited reading of the scriptures, I honestly believe that St Paul and even Christ himself would be very tolerant of a reasonable amount of alcohol in heaven. Christ himself turned water into wine while on earth so the wedding guests could drink and have a good time.

Jesus never enquired about those who must have been having a good time drinking off the alloted supply for the occasion, whether they were "stoned" or not. Some may even have been drunk!!....He simply made more wine without bothering himself about those consequences. My kind a guy!!...So, I can't see the abstainers from earth having any say in the matter at all. I would imagine some of those abstainers who were misguided in their beliefs, would be having real fits and regrets that they didn't imbibed, when they had the chance on earth. Considering I may have eaten more than my grandparents, maybe I should find a way to induce more, shall we say, flatulence, to release those trapped souls. Of course, not so much as to cause further depletion of the ozone layer, or is it the type from cattle?

There will be some good things about heaven including golf-course like evergreen fields, no crime, no heavy metal music, and I'm almost certain the food will be vegetarian.

However, it should be largely boring. The greater part of one's day will be spent walking around in a white robe chanting "holy, holy, holy," or "worthy is the Lamb that was slain," or "the Lord God omnipotent reigneth" - in other words, flattery.

Like Wahalla, I think the Muslim heaven seems much more fun, except I fear I wouldn't qualify. Blowing up myself and any number of infidels would be out of the question.

I could acquire the taste of milk and honey, I suppose, but the absence of cable, football (soccer) and sex, would be too much to ask.

Regarding 'belief', I am simply applying reason to the concept. It's a useful tool.

Doctrines of transmigration, such as Hinduism, hold that we are trapped here until we get it right. Which still leaves us with the oddity of a finite time on earth balancing an infinity of transcendental existence.

Neither of these approaches makes much sense.

You have to admit, the Muslim heaven is fascinating as opposed to the christian heaven where couples will have their marriage contract immediately nullified at the pearly gates, and will be inflicted with amnesia. They will even forget that they had children.
