Though, if I remember my Kenneth Clarke, it seems Michaelangelo had a problem drawing femininity, his women looking like men with stuck on breasts...

BTW, Michaelangelo's Adam looks like a girl, so cleanfaced and delicate featured.

And me a look how God cover up himself fe create Eve. Some kind of sybolism deh so.

Was Michaelangelo gay? that could explain his making the women look like men, and making the men look like pretty women. He did have a great ability in drawing and sculpting willies. The davids detail is eye popping

I never studied the life of Michaelangelo so I'm asking from pure ignorance here. although what I know of artists many of the very talented men I know have been gay. Repressed sexual energy makes good art [img]/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img] [img]/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]

So I guess him leaving his soul to the biblical God in his will was all for not then. saying as how from what I've been told God hates gay's. Poor man I wonder if he realized all his work, and faith was only going to get him a ticket to hell? [img]/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img]

Of Course if I were to make a religion there would be a special heaven for artists. So they could continue to create. At least hell must be beautiful with all those artists down there [img]/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]

You , like me, was fed on the milk of anthropomorphism and Judaic male chauvinism.

Christ claimed that God is a spirit. Apparently, it never occurred to the Apostles to ask Christ if God was male or female, they being male chauvinistic Jews. He would probably have circumvented the question, as he did when one of the Apostles asked him to show them how The Father looked ,or words to that effect. If we accept that God is omnipotent, then it logically follows that he ought to possess the power to transform into anything He wished to be- spirit, plant, animal , wind , rain or fire or a Rastaman.

You would think that after all these centuries of worship, all the money spent, all the prayers and sacrifices, that believers would know what SEX their diety was... wouldn't you?

I mean, doesn't just the confusion alone show how tenuous beliefs are?

I agree with you, fTLGz. Beliefs are rather
'airy' , but for poor 'homo sapiens' to maintain equilibrium, gravity and even sanity, he is obliged to seek and believe in what is mysteriously beyond his understanding- what he feels to be so,,but cannnot clearly see.

As for me and my house, we shall serve the Lord of Lords. It is safer and more satisfying, as well as a spiritual refuge , a reservoir of spiritual strength. But this resolution will not deter me from asking the most thought provoking questions about Myself, Yahweh and the Universe, or listen to the most revolutionary metaphysical projection or speculation.
