My pastor said something interesting about waiting for our blessing. Did you know that we may not receive what we have been praying for in
THIS life? I was shocked to know that. We might be dead, gone, sittin next to Jesus and then realize that our blessing is right there.

Yes girl, go read Hebrews 11. YOu'll see all the believers who didn't receive their blessings in this life...but the generation after them received it...now that's kinda nice.

Hebrews 11. Thanks Queen I will read that. I was not mad when he told me this but it just made me want to prepare my children even more so that they may be ready to recieve MY blessing....LOL okay the blessing that was not meant to be mine on earth. LOL

There's a song that my youth choir sings that reminds me that I have to wait on Him. It's entitled: "I'm gonna wait no matter how long it takes, cause I'm waiting, waiting, waiting on the Lord."

Tropicana and Queen, I hear you loud and clear ladies about the waiting. I have been waiting a little over 6 years coming up on 7 myself. I hear a voice however saying to me that 7 is God's perfect number and something is about to happen soon. I am follower of Chirst, so like the song says, I'm gonna wait no matter how long it takes, cause I'm waiting, waiting, waiting on the Lord. He will come through for me and for you too, I just know it.

I promise to keep you all posted the moment it happens, because I will be shouting it from the roof tops, I will be telling anyone and everyone what my God has done for me. Until then...

SistaGirl, have you ever had anyone who did something nice for you and said

"this is because you are so and so's child and they did this for me when I was younger or a couple of year ago" now that is the blessing you are reaping from your parent's good works.

Believe me, when I heard that not reaping in this life time stuff I wasn't too happy, but now I understand it a bit more. So now I do good and most times purposely because of the blessings I want my children (that I don't have yet) to receive [img]/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]

If you are praying on where you need to be in terms of using your gifts you don't need to rush into a big endeavor like buying a company (he may not want you there) but wait on God's direction (through prayer) for direction. This is another excellent thread. I did Blackaby's Experiencing God study in the spring (obviously I didn't "pass" it [img]/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img] *sigh* so, I'm starting it again this Sunday). He stresses the fact that a crisis of belief, often triggered by waiting, is always a part of the process of God's purposes unfolding in our lives. It's VERY, VERY tough though...waiting...mi noh like it at all, no sah.

You know I did a piece on a similar theme the other day "Enjoy the Journey". I particularly like Queens piece. Changing our desires. My attitude has been for a while now, and it took trial and error over many years of my life to come to this conclusion, is that -if we put God first our attitudes and desires will surely change, we will gain a new perspective on life. Indeed I am a waiter. I believe that all God brings into my life is ultimately for my own good. We know that He being the Potter, and we being the clay, we must be molded to His image. Not all our experiences are meant to be pleasant but if we are surrendered to Christ the fruits or outworkings of those experiences are gauranteed to be good. Waiting is not pleasant but a good reference is to Abraham and Sarah, and then even with that look at what God required Abraham to do. Now that just shows us that God is to be our chief love and joy. It takes prayerful meditation and determination to follow Him in order to reconcile the matter of waiting in our minds. Good post (((CEW))).

Great post CEW but...I truly believe that nothing happens before the right time. What we do during the waiting period is what is important. Do we act like cry babies and wonder why this or that isn't happening or do we wait patiently on God to put all the pieces in place? I've learnt several times over the course of my life to allow God to do His job. As the scripture that you posted stated, "But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint." I found it very frustrating being too anxious to obtain the desires of heart so I took the desires and the burdens to the foot of the cross and left them there.

The enemy will approach us from time to time, especially when we profess Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour.....it's up to us to remind him that we know that we can do all things through Christ who strengthen us. Christ does give us the strength to wait, it's up to us to recognize that and stand on it.
