Alberto, loving the “host with the most” title, gets the key and goes to prepare dinner. He leaves instructions with Marilyn, letting her know that she is also expected and what time to be ready. After an hour, I go home to bathe and get ready for our dinner, which is of course spectacular as usual. I think it was curry chicken. (Believe me, in Jamaica, chicken is almost all I eat) After dinner, we’re all pretty much tired, so Marilyn goes for a nap and so do I. At 9:30PM, I get dressed while Alberto waited impatiently. Tommy comes over, and we go over to Bar-B-Barn to collect Marilyn and we’re off to a local Beach Bar. I think Sunday night it was DeBus, but again, I don’t take notes.
The next day, Connie comes over and lets me know that she has dispensed with her man. [img]/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img] Right away Marilyn and I decide we are not going to let this ruin her vacation, so we include her in our plans for the evening. Marilyn has brought about 100 CD’s of mostly reggae and we set up on the beach with the “chunes” bumpin’. Again, we get loads of attention, especially when she plays one of my favorites by Lady Saw. [img]/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img] In the afternoon, Alberto comes by and lets Connie know that she’s expected for dinner too.
That night, we (Alberto, me, Connie, Robert, Marilyn, and one I shall call the “stalker”) go to Risky Business for their Ladies’ Night (free rum for the ladies). A guy that I’ve met on the beach is singing. His name is Anthony and he has a great voice. A young English girl comes over to speak to me. I met her in March, just days before she was to marry her local boyfriend, who is the stilt walker on the beach for Mr. Slice pizza.
Her husband does quite a show, limbo dancing on stage, ending reaaaalll low with the bar on fire. Girlfriend is blasted out of her mind, but she’s having a great time. Later when the band is playing, Marilyn and I see her dancing all by herself! What a sight! The girl had no rhythm at all—she looks like a puppet dangling in a hurricane. Quite a sight.
After the band quits, we head down the beach towards home. Brilliant me gets the idea that I’d like to go for a cool and relaxing swim. Of course I don’t mean the ocean, you know. We Jamaicans don’t swim in the sea at night. We stop by Legends to look up the night security man, Class. I’m really glad to see him. He was working at Samsara the last few times I’ve gone to Negril, and although I’ve talked to him on Alberto’s phone, I haven’t seen him since last summer. Class welcomed us and turned off the pool lights and the lantern near the pool, so it was dimly lit. For this swim we don’t need a lot of attention; we don’t have bathing suits! Well, Alberto strips down quickly and plunges in. I am wearing a demure, long white skirt with a tank top (nothing under the top). My mother of all people had given me some underwear that Alberto describes as “eyepatch” they’re so small. I figure they’re not hiding anything, so off they come. Marilyn wears NOTHING under her outfit, so that’s easy. Connie, ever the good girl, keeps on some underwear, I think. She doesn’t need Robert to think she’s interested, because she’s not. The stalker seems reluctant or shy, but finally strips down when he thinks no one is looking. I look. This guy tried to tell us he’s 29, but I’ve got him pegged for 18 or so. Not quite ripe you know? Marilyn has told him she’s not interested, but spends the time avoiding him, moving constantly around the pool, with him in hot pursuit.
The pool at Legends is warm and refreshing. It is only 4’ deep, a plunge pool. It is perfect. The night is warm and the sky is full of stars. Alberto wants to “play”. Hmmmmmmmm………lots of fun! [img]/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img]Comment

I can see I won't get any work done today because I am glued to the board today waiting for the next installments of the greatest of all times trip reports!!!
btw, I also love Lady Saw she so nasty!!! My favorite is with Beanie Man "Healing"!!!Comment

Tuesday, July 16:
Last night was one of the best times. We decide that today we’re going on an island picnic to Booby Cay. Of course, Alberto is actually “in charge”.

We walk down the beach to Risky Business, where Alberto’s boat is moored. He starts running around gathering up supplies, getting gas, etc, so Marilyn and I wait. Marilyn has decided to take some photos of the “men of Negril”, and she begins taking pix of a good-looking Rasta. Some eediot makes a comment that I think is stupid and racist—towards Black Americans, no less! After my head stops spinning around, Marilyn calms me down, and I decide to let the dummy live.
We board the boat, and head out. On the way we go by the Mahogany Inn, an abandoned hotel in the midst of the AI’s. It is a gorgeous site with about 500 feet of beachfront and a circular room on the second floor. We envision a restaurant there, with a band and Negril sunsets. Oh, to have a large amount of money to purchase this place!!
On the way to the island, “Rude Bwoy”, one of the helpers on the boat stokes up a spliff and offers it around. I decline, but Ms. Marilyn decides to try her first in 20 years. She scornfully says “I don’t feel a thing!” Meanwhile we imbibe in the rum punch Alberto has prepared. Marilyn also partakes. We arrive at Booby Cay. What used to be a long sandbar is now almost completely covered with water. There is another glass bottom boat moored there with about 4-5 tourists aboard or in the water and the boatman. Jetskis are constantly arriving and returning to the neighboring AI resorts. With little warning Alberto skims out of his shorts, swings them gaily in the air, and throws them into the boat. Marilyn, who is now “feeling a thing or 2”, quickly copies him. Alberto turns and calls me over to him. I try to back away, but he catches me; and in a quick move, unzips my suit and snatches it off! Soon, naked as the day we were born, we are romping in the warm water totally ignoring our neighbors. At one point I look up and Marilyn is sprawled on the beach, out like a light. Next to her Rude Bwoy is also naked and asleep.
What a day!
Later we drag on our suits and go over to Cosmos for lunch. Marilyn falls asleep, face down, in the sand. I hear a jeep coming, and lo and behold it’s Shinehead, Negril’s fiercest cop. I hail him, and his face breaks into a big smile. He’s looking around for my sister, but I tell him that she didn’t come to Negril. The smile fades, and he goes off down the beach with his usual grim face. We get back in the boat and return to Risky, tired, sandy, but happy.
Nope, we’re not done yet. Alberto instructs us to bathe and get ready for dinner, which of course he prepares. We nap, then he collects everyone for that night’s adventure on the beach. Tonight is Alfred’s. We have an attitude, because they are now CHARGING $100JA to get in [img]/forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif[/img] , the only beach bar to charge. We find a table with a good view of the entertainment and settle in. Alberto wanders off. A woman, an Austrian tourist, comes up to me and asks me to dance. [img]/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif[/img] I am confused. I don’t dance with women. I decline. She goes to Marilyn and repeats her request, telling her that her husband won’t dance with her. Ok. Now I understand. She tells Marilyn that she remembers her from the island that afternoon. Now we know she’s seen all of us.

what can i say? i am impressed! not only by your skills as a writer, but your memory! this is really keeping me going in the classroom this morning...dont forget how miserable summer school can be and keep 'em comin'! [img]/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img] i am sorry that i had to leave so close to your arrival because i would have loved to come to the house for dinner 'n dominoes...next time.
did the storm hit you hard? we got SLAMMED! I have been without power since Friday night...yardy stylie, minus the bredren in the yard to play dominoes or talk with until all hours of the hot-a** evening. so i can say that the one good thing about summer school (hey! besides the money, there's finally one!) is that i can get my internet fix.
