Milo, we stay at Secrets every year for at least one of our weeks. We had your little cabin the first year, but then moved to a little bigger one since. The grounds are safe and clean, and the staff has always been wonderful. Great trip report, keep it up.

Maybe you don't want to live the night life in Negril. I wandered like this on my first trip to Jamaica that took only 3 days and nights to make me LOOK around. Now I am a creature of the night .

Good photos man,Q?.... you put money in the bank and walked away till you came back.
Did you get interest.
Did you deposit US funds so U get a increase every time the Ja$ changes: just curious.

Personally, 2003 has not been a great year for me. My holiday was more of a chance for me to kick back and just rest and clear my head. I did not go looking for "nightlife". Although I did venture out later in my trip. Most nights however, I found myself heading to bed at 10pm or maybe 11pm at the latest. I loved getting up at sunrise to walk along the beach. The beach is at its best at that time of the morning. Very few people and very little noise from jet skis etc... .

geocox: My dad and I have had a bank account at the ScotiaBank for years. While we do make some good intrest on the money it's all gone now. I spent the last of it on this trip. [img]/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img]

Miloman your report is great i really do like it alot,,im a single man soon to be travelling to jamaica from dec 6th to jan 3rd im definitly going to enjoy some of the night life there as long as i can hook up with some other visitors or some of the locals,,,look forward to reading your next installment...like your saying better to burn out than it is to rust..neil young fan here too!!!!!

Back in the day I partied with all of C.S.&N.&Y., Buffalo Springfield. I was In a band at the time and they were in Phoenix allot during that time.
I can still here that high pitched voice when I think of the best;Neil Young was the best.

Answer a banking question for me. I too opened an account at Scotia. I had to get all kind of doucments together to prove my character. I had to have notorized afffidavit, copies of w-4's tax returns and recent check stubs. After I cleared muster I started the account, but here was the problem.
When I wanted to send some money to the account from the US I was charged this huge transfer fee by my bank for wiring it there. I had chosen a bank that had affiliate banks here in the US, butwhen I went to those banks they denied being in anyway connected with the bank in Jamaica.

Did you run into any of this?

So on my next trip to Ochii I drew it all out, which they made me wait a long long time like maybe I would change my mind or something.

Ilearn something everyday,cool geocox there are a great band will be bringing a couple of neil young cds down with me rust never sleeps and after the gold rush,,im sure you know the albums,,love to listen to them after a few cold ones...

Wish you were there a day or so earlier.
I have the perfect place at The Whistling Bird, I'm taking my Lap Top with my Boise speakers. This is a nice system, I will bring CD's and DVD's for entertainment.

Marilyn, I actually opened an account with Scotia from here. I got some contact info. from The Bank of Nova Scotia which is located in my office bldg. for the Kingston office of ScotiaBank. All went well, without any major problems. I'm also doing the same with JA Nat'l and I'll let ya know how that goes

We use to live in Jamaica and that money has been in the account for many years. I don't now how things work nowadays!
