Ok. We hung out at Skip's. QK's friends from Great Bay visited with us.

When we returned to Irie Rest the Aussie gals (Cassie, Beck, & Dianne) had arrived.

The next day (saturday ) QK, Lennie, the Aussie gals , and me hung out on the beach during the day. Some local kids joined us for a swim. (QK was liked the pied piper with local little people [img]/forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif[/img] )

My memory is terrible !

I know that by now I have met George. He was very hospitable. We had a cold one (or two) on the veranda of Hikaru. What a veiw ! All you can see is the sea ! [img]/forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif[/img]

George also let QK & I cut thru Hikaru going to & from the beach , He offered us use of the pool & outdoor shower (which we gladly accepted [img]/forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif[/img] )

On saturday night we went to Georges party. Sanya is lovely, as well as a charming hostess (and talented dancer) . Most of Billy's Bay put in an appearance. Nice crowd !! [img]/forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif[/img]

The entertainment was wonderful. The only name I know is Keron Elliot. [img]/forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif[/img] (what is the name of the group ?) These youths can sing any thing. (and I mean ANYTHING ! and sing it well)

I had the pleasure of chatting with the grounds keeper ( [img]/forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif[/img] the name is escaping me here. Is it Veril ?) and Miss Joyce. They are lovely people. They do a wonderful job at Hikaru.

We were also entertained by a fisherman named Richard , who juggled and balanced things (including a knife ) on his face. Sanya danced (no wonder she looks like she does ! )

The party then moved to a little rumshop around the conner. Most of the crowd escorted QK & I back to Irie rest.

Sunday morning QK & I walked up to the TB hotel and a lovely breakfast. a British woman stopped us on the road and invited us to a beach party tonight in Frenchmen's Bay.

We ran in to Trevor (Mo-fire's hubby) on the way back. Naturally I didn't see him till arrangements were already made for a boat trip with the Aussie girls today.

QK was off to Great Bay to have dinner with friends. Cassie, Dianne , Beck & I set off on a boat trip to Black River with Michael & O'Neil.

The weather was lovely / sunny. when we got to Black River there was a large Croc standing on the concrete platform of a bar (which was closed). I thought he was fake till he moved . This guy was posing for photos. I was amazed at the number of tiny rowboats with people fishing on the river. The fishing boat could get in to parts of the river that larger pontoons cannot. we saw one smaller Croc who fled as we approached.

Michael & O'neil were able to get the boat under the bridge without difficulty (the water is still high from the rains in October).

We stopped at little bar up the river. I (of course [img]/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img] had a cold stripe) while everyone else drank soda. Only Beck braved a swim in the river.

Then we were off to the Pelican Bar. (I can't wait to post these photos !) The Pelican bar is essentially a bamboo shack way out in the sea (I think it's on a sand bar). They serve fresh fish & drinks. The water is fairly shallow. We enjoyed a cold drink (stripe for me !!) and a nice swim. The place had a nice vibe with jamaican families & tourist mingling. (The guy that built this place is a genius in MHO).

We saw a school of Dolphins on the way back. They were too fast for my camera !

The trip back was a bit ruff ! My advice is don't sit up front !!

After showering & changing , I enjoyed a nice dinner on the veranda of Irie rest. I think it was barbacued chicken tonight. (It's all good, Pauline is a great cook).

QK was tired. Cassie , Beck, Dianne & I walked up to the beach party at Frenchmen's bay. 3 local youths walked us up there (Tyrone, McCarl & I can't remmeber the 3rd kids name [img]/forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif[/img] )

Dianne & Beck didn't like the vibe and left quickly (escorted back to Billy's Bay by one of the youths). Cassie & I hung out for a bit. We bumped in to a guy from Louisiana named Jim (staying at TB hotel / in Jamiaca for business ! What a life . He knew QK from TB.net. / and had been down to visit @ Irie Rest.The sound systen was LOUD, and playing mostly dancehall. We decided to call it a night. Tyrone & McCarl walked Cassie & I back to Billy's Bay. A man in a car made a pest of himself (trying to rap to us) on the way back. He was a little vexed with Tyrone for "interfering". He vexed me bad by giving Tyrone some static [img]/forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif[/img] (and not taking a hint [img]/forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif[/img] ) Once I told him that we had men in Billy's bay he drove way.(finally !! )

I was beat ! I slept like a baby.

I am loving your trip report JD!

Good luck with the pictures, I saw your other post about that....I just had a thought, hope it isn't your case, but when I got my new camera ( Olympus) in March, I tried for what seem like forever to figure out something that wouldnt work on it. It turned out to be a malfunctioning camera. I was lucky, the pictures were on the card the right way, but the camera was malfunctioning. Life became a whole lot easier once that problem got solved but I remember full well how frustrating it was.

Thanks for not giving up JD! If it was me, that camera would have been out the window and ran over with my car along with the computer about a week ago!

IM, I think it was me that was malfuctioning with the 1st photos (from 35 mm / on a disc). [img]/forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif[/img]

My computer isn't recognizing my digital / I'll try to muddle thru that with help from the Nikon support web site. Hopefully I'll get it strait soon.

Magic, I may trashed the camera if my neighbor had not parked in the parking space that I shoveled. All i thought of was killing him & trashing his car. [img]/forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif[/img] . But, it got my mind of the foolish camera. [img]/forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif[/img]
