I see Anthony (the snorkeling guide) and his buddies way down at the beach, they wave. I call Olivia and Danielle out. Anthony is making gestures to Danielle to come down and meet him. She does a “I can’t understand what you’re saying” gesture back. The phone rings. I answer and a man says “Can I speak to the girl in the blue that was just on the balcony”. “Olivia it’s for you”.

Those Jamaican men are too much aren't they???

Ladies, this report is too funny. I am feeling all of your moods and ambivalence. Jamaica does something to you and your mind. Your usual precautions are tossed to the wind like a wrapper of your favorite candy bar while driving along a deserted highway (not a moment of hesitation because no one will see you littering. The men in Jamaica have that little something that I have found a name that fits, at least for me it fits. I'll send you a PM and give you my opinion if you like. I'll agree with the breathing on the neck thing....there are few things more exciting that a nice, tall, jet black, sweet smelling...and by the way, don't they all smell sweet...even their natural smell is sweet....slow moving man dancing behind you and breathing on your neck. Dang...ok...back to the trip report. Continue my sister....continue...and Marilyn, wipe that drool from your bottom lip

Day 5 – Friday

Rollover in bed and look at the alarm clock. 10:00. *Groan* “Guys, get up. We’re going to miss breakfast”. We pull ourselves out of bed, put on the swimsuits, find our towels and head downstairs. We all look pretty rough, I don’t think we got to sleep until after 5:00. Get to the buffet just in time as they are cleaning up. We chitchat about last night, Danielle feels really bad about leaving Pete sitting there all hot and bothered while she left. She wonders how long he actually sat there before he realized she wasn’t coming back. Olivia tells us about her discussions with Raymond. Long story short, he wants to be with her, she doesn’t. I’m not saying too much. Olivia asks me “And who was that you were dancing with all night long”? “I met him at Margaritaville the other night”. I say. Danielle teases me “That’s 2 nights in a row, she’s got a steady relationship going there, and she’s going out with him tonight”. Olivia had just fallen asleep when he had called. She says “Are you crazy”?? I seem to be getting that question a lot. “You never know what could happen, I wouldn’t go by yourself if I were you”. I shrug my shoulders, I say “I’m not going to do anything dumb like go home with him. I’m only going to go up to the craft market and no further”. We finish eating and get a start on our drinks. Today, we drag some of those kayaks off the beach and do some paddling. Olivia starts paddling about 5 strokes, OK, that’s it for me she says and go sits in the sun. Me and Danielle race from one end of the beach to the other. She wins every time. Show off. Olivia is talking to the 6 Italian guys that try to pick us up like clockwork every morning. We are tired of kayaking, pull them back up on the beach and we float in the water. I get lost deep in thought. What is happening to me? How did I suddenly become a different person in a matter of days. I bought the movie How Stella got her groove back before we came here, I watched it for the scenery so I could get a glimpse of what Jamaica looked like. Never in a bazillion years did I think I would BE Stella. I am interrupted by a screech from Danielle who is killing herself laughing. My bikini top seems to have come undone. Yeah keep looking Italian guys – perverts.

We are finished lounging in the sun and go get some lunch. We walk around a bit and take pictures after. I ask every 30 minutes, what time is it? 1:00, 1:30, 2:00. 2:30.
“It’s 2:30, I have to go upstairs now so I don’t miss his phone call”. I get sounds of disgust from Olivia and Danielle. Olivia cuts her eyes at me “Is somebody in LOVE”? “NO!! Come on. I just told him I’d be around at 3:00 and I don’t want to be rude and not be there”. We head back to the room and I dilly dally around, turn on the radio, turn off the radio. Turn on the TV, change the channel, turn off the TV. Take a walk to the balcony, walk back inside. Check my reflection in the mirror, sit on the bed. Get off the bed, tidy up the dresser. Sit on the bed. Check the time – 2:57. What if he doesn’t call? Oh my gosh, I will be so hurt. No I won’t, it doesn’t matter, I hardly know him anyway. 3:00 on the nose. Ring. Ring. Olivia and Danielle look impressed. OK, breath. I’m cool. “Hello” I say very casually. “Hi, it’s Paul”. “Oh, hi”! Like I totally forgot that he was going to call. “I’ve been thinking about you all day”. He says. “Oh yeah”? I grin and coyly tuck my hair behind my ear. I look at Danielle and Olivia. They are moving about the room as if they are not listening to every word. He says “Can you still go out”? “Yeah”. “OK, how about in an hour, I’ll meet you in front of the Grande”. “OK, I’ll come down to the street since you won’t be able to get past the security”. “OK, see you then, bye”. AAAGH…what time is it?? 3:03. Must take a shower, find something to wear. Check the legs, not too bad but should shave. That will waste an extra 10 minutes. Olivia, can you please do my hair today?? She is already turning on the curling iron. Danielle says, “If you happen to see Pete in your travels, tell him I’m sorry”. I think she likes him. Finished getting ready, I’m putting my shoes on and walking out the door. Danielle says “What time can we expect you back”? I said I’ll be back by 6:30. Olivia says “Ok, if you are not back by 6:30 we are calling the police”. She is dead serious. “OK, I’ll be back by then for sure”. Head downstairs, leave the Grande, walk past security and there he is waiting on the corner. Deep breath, hope I come home alive. I walk up to him and he immediately holds my hand. My first instinct is to grab it back, but he just pulls me along like it is the most natural thing in the world. OK, I’ll go with it. We walk down main street, chitchat about what we did today. We get up to the craft market and I start to turn inside. He stops and says “We’re not going in there, we’re going that way. That place is just for tourists, you need to see the real Jamaica”. He points across the street. It looks pretty scary that way. He yanks me that way, I yank back and say “I’m not going over there”. He yanks me back and laughs. He says “If anything ever happened to you while you are with me I’d be in BIG trouble”. Oh God, please don’t let me be killed. I let him lead me, we are walking pretty deep into a market area where a lot of Jamaican people are shopping. We step into one area with aisles and aisles of clothes. Nice stuff, I make a mental note to tell Olivia and Danielle about it so we can come back and shop. We go to the supermarket and he gets some fruits, the lady cuts them up while we are there and we continue to walk eating our fruit. He points out some sort of bamboo plant and asks if I want to try some. He says it helps build your appetite. No thanks, is there anything that can stop your appetite? I tell him the story of what happened with Pete and Danielle and that I have a message for Pete if we happen to see him. He says, I know where he stays, it’s right here. We take about 10 steps around the corner and sure enough, there is Pete. I tell him that Danielle is really sorry, and she’s looking forward to his call (I am terrible). I give him our room number. Oops, did I break the rules again? Paul seems to know about every 10th person we walk by, almost all are cousins or related somehow. He stops to say hi and introduces me. What time is it? He checks the time it is 6:05. I tell him that I have to get going otherwise the police will be out looking for us. He seems kind of worried and picks up the pace. We get back to the Grande, I’m not ready to let him go yet. I ask him if he wants to go sit out on the beach. He does. OK, now this is going to be interesting. Have to get him past security somehow. I have my fluorescent pink Jamaica Grande wristband on my left hand. I link arms with him and cover his wrist so they can’t tell whether he’s wearing one or not. YES! Made it past the border. We walk through the lobby and down the stairs to sit in the beach chairs. It’s 6:20. I tell him I have to call upstairs and let them know I am back. From the front desk lobby I call and Olivia answers, “I’m back, I’m downstairs on the beach”. “OK, Danielle just called”. “Where is she”? “That Pete guy came and picked her up, they went somewhere I don’t know”. Gee - he works fast. I get back downstairs to the beach, and sit on a chair next to him. The sun is setting, and the sky is a big orange glow behind the hills in the distance. He holds my hand and then traces his fingers up and down the inside of my fingers. I am watching my hand as he is doing that. I look up at him and he gives me the sweetest kiss I think I have ever tasted in my life. It’s getting pretty dark now and he says “let’s go for a walk that way”. He points down the beach. “OK”. We walk hand in hand and get pretty far down. He says “Want to swim? I wonder if it’s cold”. He pulls his shoes off and steps in the water. “Hey, it’s nice”! he says sounding surprised. I take my shoes off and test the water. It is nice, lukewarm. I walk in the water, t-shirt, shorts and all. He strips down to boxers, obviously not shy. It is pitch dark out now and he scoops me up and twirls me around. I am thinking to myself, havn’t I seen this scene a million times in movies before? We are neck deep into water and he pulls me into him really close. I am cold and his skin feels so warm. Our face is just inches apart and he kisses me again. I hear him breathing and he is kissing me harder, his hands are running up and down my back, I think I hear myself gasp. All I know is that the world started to spin, I see the stars up in the sky when I opened my eyes and looked up. He is pulling himself closer to me if that is even possible and I get a voice in my head. You know that little angel and devil conscious that sits on your shoulder and tells you what to do? The voice says “What are you doing??? You may have forgotten that you have someone waiting for you at home. You are in the middle of the ocean where this person can drown you right here if he wanted”. I pull away and I back myself out of the water. I told him I wanted to go back now. He is like “Whaaa”??? I thought OMG, he is going to be so mad that he is going to rape me right here and now. He says “If you don’t want to do anything that’s OK. I’ll just go home and take a VERY VERY cold shower”. And he laughs. OK, now I’m feeling bad. “Sorry, didn’t mean to lead you on…blah blah blah”. “Don’t worry, I just respect you more….blah blah blah”. I have to laugh, this whole scenario IS SO straight out of a movie. He puts his clothes back on, he is full of sand. I am sopping wet. He says “Are you going out tonight”? I said “Yeah, we are going to Margaritaville”. “See you there”. “Bye”. I go back up to the room, I try to get from the door to the bathroom without Danielle or Olivia seeing me. No such luck. “Oh my god…are you OK??? What happened”????? Olivia says as I walk through the door dripping. “Long story - I’ll tell you later”. “Where’s Danielle”. “She’s still with what’s his face”.

Danielle comes back hours later. She tells us that Pete picked her up in his car with another couple, they went to a bar by the name of coconuts. We all get ready again to go out tonight. Pete picks the three of us up at 11:00 and we head out to Margaritaville. It is DEAD tonight. Olivia wants to dance, but I don’t want to until Paul gets there. Midnight rolls around, he is still not there. She drags me out to the dance floor. I’m not feeling like it, I last about 20 minutes. 1:00 still not there. I am sitting up on the bench with my hands in my chin, not saying much. 2:00 no sign of him. Now I am mad. I can’t believe this. I have SO just been played. Thank GOD I didn’t go any further than I did. Good riddance. Pete says “why don’t you go out there and find another one”. NO THANKS. I am done. 2:30 – I still watch the door. Nothing. We leave and Olivia and I go up to the room, Pete and Danielle take a drive. I change and pull the covers up over my head. This hurts.

Day 6 – Saturday

Ring. Ring. Squint open my eyes and look at the clock. 8:08. “Hello”. I say in my scratchy morning voice. “Hi baby, it’s me. I am so sorry about yesterday. I took a nap and when I woke up it was 1:30, too late to go out”. RIGHT. “Are you vexed with me”? What does that mean. I assume he’s not asking if I’m happy, so I take it as mad. “No”. I say. “Do you want to go out for a walk again today”? He only wants sex from you, he stood you up yesterday, say no, say no, say no. “OK”. I say. He says “I’ll call you at 4:00”. “Talk to you later” “Bye”. I have lost any and all sense that I ever had.

Now about this trip report.......Girl if you don't get moved to dear k it will be a miracle. See this is my kind of trip report....it's about PEOPLE, not palm trees. I'm entitled to my opinion right?
If you do not PERFECTLY capture all the crazy thoughts and progressions that go on a woman's head when she falls in to that silken trap....

Definately bringing back memories. Met my SO in Ochi on my first trip, and he's red like mongoose too [img]/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img] Been living together for 4 years now. Miss the romance, and your report is reminding me so much of how it was in the beginning. Ja men are so intoxicating. Your mind might tell you one thing, but you still act w/ reckless abandon. It's the best.

Paul not showing up at the club reminds me of a similar thing that happened to me. This cutie said he would meet us at Margaritaville, but he never showed. I was hurt, but mostly mad, and said I would never talk to him again. He showed up at the hotel the next day apologizing b/c he had to work late. He had been trying to call my cell all night, but he didn't realize my US phone didn't work in Ja. We kissed and made up, and of course I loved hearing his voice on my voicemail when I got home.
