I stayed at RIU this past March. Never snorkeled before this trip. Got hooked up with a glass bottomed boat and a guide named Dwight. The first day we went there were 6 of us. Two people strictly came along for the boat ride. 4 of us snorkeled (gear included) for about 45 minutes. Dwight picked us up at the shore directly in front of the RIU. Drove us to the reefs and drove us any where I told him to take us. All together we were gone for about 1 hour 45 minutes. Price tag was $60 US. What a deal!! We loved it so much, we told Dwight to pick us up the next morning at 10. He was waiting for us 15 minutes in advance. This time the other two people also snorkeled - one being my wife. When we were done snorkeling, the first thing my wife said is that we need to do this again tomorrow. It was also her first time snorkeling. Once again the 6 of us was $60 US. Told Dwight to be there at 9 the next morning. He again was waiting for us 15 minutes early. Dwight's boat was spotless and had a great stereo system. I brought a cooler each day filled with water, soda and RS. Dwight told us after we scheduled our 3rd trip to bring some bread or rolls along. On our 3rd trip, Dwight went snorkeling with us and acted as a guide. He was of great help and so was the bread. I gave Dwight $75 US the last day. Give Dwight a call when you get there 1-377-8786. Great guide and extremely dependable.
