I'm reading page 5 and see there's only 3 more pages of this trip report posted so far...and I don't want it to end. It's been so long since I've been to yard; I felt so much loss on my last trip and didn't know when my heart would be in shape to return. I am feeling so pulled in that direction tonight while I'm reading this trip report. Reconciliation is the theme, and I feel like maybe I'm ready now. Thanks kindred spirit for taking us along. Marilyn--I haven't been on my computer all day but something compelled me to get up at 2 in the morning and there you were with a report that just blew me away!

First of all I want to borrow that outfit that you had on The lepard one so please send it to me soon as possible because I am leaving for Jamaica Monday! That outfit is the bomb!

I am so happy that you met up with the man of your dreams after all this time---You continue to enjoy your life to the fullest. (Jamaican men are so awesome)and after two years of marriage I love my JM husband and wouldn't have it any other way.

You have brought so much love and sunshine into alot of people lives in Jamaica and to all the people that you touch and I applaude you for the work that you are doing in Jamaica you have a very giving heart. (God Bless You)

I also want to Congradulate you and Ms. B on the new website Girlfriend tours it is most informative---- and a site that is well put together, I love it and I am going to tell others to check it out.

I am glad the you and the ladies made it home safely and that you all had the time of your life and of course your report is fantastic as I knew it would be and I hope I get to finish it all before I leave because I know there is more to come! and from one southern girl to another

Jabuddah this picture does not even do this man justice. He was gorgeous. But beyond that, I watched him with his little girl and I was mesmerized. I am a SUCKer for a man with his kid. I STILL have not gotten over the pictures I took of Jones 411 husband and their baby.

Magic, when I said my first jerk I meant my first jerk for that particular trip. I held out in Negril as I am firmly convinced it's better in Ochii.

SUSANNA!!!!!!!!!!!!!How wonderful to see you. Baby girl I think it is time for that reconciliation and healing that only Jamaica can do for you. I know what she took. She owes you back....go get it.

It's Wednesday and this is going to be an exciting day. Cathy (Sista Caf) is coming today. Today is also my Coulda Woulda Shoulda party out by the pool tonight, and then off to the beach party at M'ville.

We go to breakfast at Fishermans, and still no Rohan. So it's back to Andrew's

and this is just breakfast.

After breakfast we truck on down to A local restaurant where a friend of mine works I want Classy to meet. We just had breakfast, but I order egg rolls so we will have an excuse. He is fineeeeeeeeeeee and charming and sexy, and Classy just shakes her head. He is leaving Jamaica to go work on one of the cruise ships as a busboy. I lecture him about staying away from the passengers, and we four ladies just in general enjoy looking at him.

No sparks ,so we pay the bill and leave.
Next we make my traditional trip to Gem Palace to worry them and try on rings I can never afford. This trip my heart is stopped by a three stone white and blue diamond ring with tennis bracelet to match. Total cost....7,000.00.

I think Sassy has these pictures for you of us girls trying on stuff that would cost too many trips to Jamaica to buy. That is now everything in my life is measures now, how many trips to Jamaica is this???

Next we wander into a little cafe called Future Bakery. Although I would love to make this place a new favorite hangout, our inside information is that it will soon close. The guys there are so kind to us as we are trying to contact US Air to get Sassy's ticket changed. We have made such an impression on her (yeah right, it was us [img]/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img] ) that she had decided to extend until Monday when we are all leaving (why didn't she do that from the beginning????)

In the meantime I get on the internet to check on Ja.com, and after abut 40 minutes SUCESSS we have our sister for a little longer. We all shouted, and the guys acted happy for us. What sweethearts. I met two lovely ladies there who have bought condo's in Jamaica and are living happily, I hate them. [img]/forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif[/img]

We leave there and go around to Wrap Your World and shop til we drop. We got the loveliest things soooooooooo cheap, and they have unusual and lovely things in there. This is somewhere off the beaten path, and you have to know about it as it is not on the ususal tourist path.

Now let's see, it's not even noon and we have had breakfast at Fiserhman's, egg rolls, so what do we need now? Patties!!!!! We stop at Jucie and the girls get Patties, but I am holding out for Mom's on Evelyn avenue. When we get there, I get my beloved soup, and guess what....they all order fry chicken. My question is, when the plane takes off Monday will we have liftoff Houston?

Somewhere in between all of this Shirley checks her bank balance and finds out that it is 0

Now picture this, you are in a foreign country, you had well over 1,000 in your account the day before, and you go the next day and it is all gone. You have been using your card in that country...your conclusion, someone has gotten my card number and taken all of my money. Shirley crumbled. She's over her with a husband and two kids and no money.

At first you just can't think. That is where you sisters come in. She called her bank back home, and they were no help at all. More defeat.
She remembers that when she checked in Skycastles that they had problems with the credit card machine. Wonder if they charged her twice for the room?

We walk around a little and then I get the call from Cathy. I'm here!!!!!!!!! Ok I got one crying sister and one arriving sister and I gotta do something. I am concerned for Shirley, but I don't want this current crisis to be what Cathy remembers upon entrance to Ochii.

I call Stuart, my favorite driver. I get him to take Shirley and Classy back to the internet cafe to look at Shilrey account on the interenet banking. Since her bank won't help her, she has to help herself, and the first step is to find out where the money went. Sassy and I cover weclcoming Cathy which included going to get her to take her to Fishermans for steam fish.





Shirley returns and gets some steam fish as well, but you can see she is NOT happy




She did find out that Skycastles had double charged her, but as of right now has no plan of action to fix it. Still that sinking helpless feeling.

The "CHEF" at fisherman's Dave


Cathy loves fisherman's and we get her everything she needs. The guys are just a courtly to her. They run around getting her chairs, water, forks, napkins.

One of the guys pulls up a trumpet fish. Now I have never seen one of these before..


He passes it off to a little old gentleman who always stands around us holding some kind of small case. I have noticed that this old gentleman has been the brunt of a lot of displeasure at Fisherman's. He was a high ranking officer in the US army at one time and sustained a bullet to the head. He therefore is not quite right, doesn't bathe, and snaps in and out of reality. He calls me MARY, and thinks that I am his wife. Why me lord.



He is standing behind me the entire time I am there mumbling about we need to go to Kingston to get our marriage license and such. I just ignore him, then suddenly he waves the trumpet fish at me and says "OOOman , go get the seasoning to cook this fish for my dinner, and fix me a drink"

Oh I know he lost his mind now, cause I didn't do that for my husband when I WAS married. With this he walks off, I guess he is on his way to the living room to wait on his drink.

More of the charm of Fisherman's beach. Characters that pass through your life better than any novel.

Classy has an admirer at Fisherman's beach....one that no one would want. Do you remember March last year when honey and I broke up? I was walking down the street dejected and hurting and just wanted to get back to my room at Skycastles. There had been a guy who made lewd comments to me the day before when I was feeding the little goats bamboo leaves. Well, if you recall, he started yelling at me across the street and made a scene. My already fragile emotions broke and I went running down to Fisherman's blinded by tears.

Someone grabbed me and held me up and it was Lester. He walked me safely back up the hill and sat on the floor of my living room until he was sure I was ok.

That guy is a character at Fisherman's named MAX. The guys call him Maxine, because according to them, his sexuality is suspect.

They told me they would take care of him. On this trip he has been eerily friendly, and did apoligize to me, but I just wish he would go away and say nothing to me. He calls me BLONDIE, and everytime he says it I cringe. He is just one person there I wish would go away, but he is always there.

He had decided that CLassy is his heart's desire. He overhead her give a nicer person at Fisherman's her nickname which is Nisha. He latches on to it and uses it to torture her about every 15 minutes.

It is a constant refrain. Classy is well ....classy about it. But it is annoying as HELL!!!!!! So much so that she is considering not going back down there again.

One day he lit in on me with his pet peeve. "Blondie...yah bring all des oooman time afta time,,,,,but you nuh bring one for me. That is why we have our problem in de firs place."

"Max, I don't BRING women for ANYBODY. They travel with me, if they like someone and someone likes them, that's their business."

Man he is just one person I wish would go away. Shortly after Sept. 11, he made a big deal of talking about how he admired Bin Laden and was a terrorist himself etcetc..

So Max started in on Classy, and steamed fish eaten, we decide to go home and deal with Shirley's problem and get Cathy settled before my party starts.

I have known Lester for about 4 years now...he was one of the first people I met on my first trip to Jamaica. We have always got along famously...no attempts for more than friendship...until this trip. My gentle no...was not received well. I hate that. [img]/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img]

Girlfriend rule #1 NEVER put a picture of your man on the board. However, my reason for not doing so is that he has asked me not to do it. You should have seen him the first time I explained Ja.com and the internet and such and asked him if he had email. You would have thought I had asked him if he had invited the devil to lunch.

I have put two pictures of him up in the past 4 years, but they both were back shots and I did not identify who he was, so no one had a clue.

How about my girls just tell the people dem what you think of him.
