Marilyn, I am enjoying your report and pictures. Keep them coming. It sounds like you guys had a great time and it is great when we as women can travel and bond together. And I was happy to hear about you and your honey reconnecting. I am waiting for more.

Baby do you know where we are?

The two of us have walked away from the group to have a private moment under the stars on the beach. I look around.

This is where I brought you that first time

Back in time 3 years 11 months. April 2000, my first trip to Jamaica. I met a devastating young man on trip 1 at my resort. I found myself looking forward to his coming to work each day. Peeking around corners like a 16 years old. Giggling when his eyes were on me, blushing, grinning like a fool. Dressing for him, hoping to see the look that he gave me day 1. Finally on Thursday of that week he asked to take me out.

We went to a little bar called Jus Cheers, which now is party central in St. Ann's bay. This was before the world discovered it. We sat on two stools of wood and talked about life and love and romance and men and women and our countries. In the talk I asked it there were moonlight walks on the beach. He said, almost never. What a waste of a beautiful oppotunity I said.

We left Jus Cheers and he asked me to step out of the car. He took me a little distance to a beautiful moonlit beach where we walked hand in hand and kissed the night away.

I am now walking on that same beach almost four years later and I feel the same way. So we kiss.

We return to the group and Classy has found her Jamaica.. She is on the beach dancing and loving it. Some of my guys friends are there and she has no lack of dance partners. Sassy is having fun and so is Ochee.

This may be about as perfect as a night can get.
We go to a little food stand in St. Ann's Bay for the BEST fried chicken I ever had in my life. It just melted away!!!!! Lord help me I'm going to gain 100 pounds.

We drop my guy off at his hometown in the wee hours of the morning and I tumble in bed satisfied that I have helped Classy find the right place in Jamaica for her. The perfect fit.

As for me.....I got to be with HIM, what more can I want?

I'm not a devout Christian by any stretch but I do remember the New Testament Scriptures of Christ having his feet washed by a young woman and the lesson being the utter and complete love she showed by performing this act. Your story sort of reminded me about that.

If you are good in this life the things you desire will come. One of the great joys of my life was taking Classy to Fisherman's Beach. I proudly walk down that road with Ochee, Classy and Sassy. I think it was new to Sassy also. Ochee has been there before.

As I anticipated, the beach came to a halt, and jaws dropped, and the men circled like vultures after a feast.


It is Monday morning, and as I feared, San is not cooking. But no worries, there is always Andrew.


Classy was later to admit to me that her expectations were higher of the physical part of Fisherman's, but later she understood. It is not how big a beach it is, or how pretty it may be, it is about it being a microcism of life, a little world all to itself that wishes to harm no one.

It is about men who have had to fen for themselves since they were small boys. Men who do not know how to spell manicure or pedicure and couldn't come near one, but exude instead a male sensuality that is intoxicating. These men huddled around my ladies and treated them in a courtly manner befitting queens.

They were waited on and entertained and complimented and oggled, and psssssssssssted, and fed and beveraged and escorted and seated, as though they were at an AI resort.

Sassy has an admirer, Classy has too many. Ochee renews olds acquaintences and spends much time explaining that she is here with her husband. All the men look at the girls , and then at me, and in their eyes is an unspoken "thank you Marilyn". Thank you for this beautiful scenery.





Breakfast goes on for hours with the girls enjoying also what I have come to call the morning argument. There is at least one everyday and it stops as suddenly as it starts. They have their own sense of justice and fairplay and law. I understand none of the patois that is spoken, but this is a show I would pay for if they charged admission.
