My plane lands at 11:00 in Montego Bay from Houston. I walk out.... there is Solomon my driver, all full of smiles.
My G’friend is there also, dressed better than ever.
We pull my luggage over to Solomon’s van and off we go.
First stop..KFC… I didn’t need this... but here we are in the drive-through at KFC ordering chicken in Montego Bay Jamaica.
It seams that Jamaicans love the worst of our food. Most of the world is addicted, as we are in the states, to our fast food.
It’s a beautiful day for a drive, the coast road is our rout to Negril.
Coming into negril I am shocked by the size of the first resort.
I wish everyone would stay in Independent resorts and eat at local restaurant. That’s just me it's my way of traveling.
Travel deals are the way most first time travelers get to Jamaica. Places like this huge monstrosity do bring first time travelers to Jamaica.
I hope they venture of the compound some time during their stay and see the real country.
Negril is fresh, clean and looking wonderful. We're staying at Rondel Village this time, my 3ed stay at this special place.
We need some Jamaican money so my first stop is the cambio on the road.
This may look strange but it has the best exchange rate in Negril.
Money in hand the next stop is food and drinks. Solomon finds a place close to Rondel; I grab many drinks and we’re off to check in.
Rondel had two sections one on the landside and the other on the beach. Were close to the beach in the section near the pool. Ahhhhhhhhhhhh the pool, a place my G’friends family loved for 2 days.
We check in, I get my lock box key and we’re off to the villa.
The villas are something special. A full kitchen with dining area. Living room with comfortable couches and a pull down bed in the wall close to the TV; this area also has its own bathroom.
The bedroom is separated from the living area with its private bathroom ,next to the bathroom is our out door Jacuzzi.
My friend is setting up the Lap Top / DVD’s I have brought down. This is a wonderful entertainment center. She hooks up the speakers as I am putting away my clothing and hiding my gifts.
Soon Its Jacuzzi time, later Solomon returns , were all-hungry so it’s clean up and time for diner. We pull it together, off we go to see Tom at Pirates Cave.
Tom and his wife greet us with this wonderful meal, Lobster, Jerk shrimp, calalo and much more. The fun drinks are special.
The cliffs, the air, the food. Soon we’re off back to Roundel, a DVD movie and sleep.
About 1:30 we both wake up and my g’friend is hungry, I get dressed, walk out to the road, down to the south is the Jungle . I walked down to get some Jerk Chicken.
I get up early and start cooking breakfast, omlets with tomatoes/ cheese. She’s still asleep so a nudge coffee under the nose, wakes my queen. Coffee, I had from the Bird.
The first thing I did for the 5 mornings at Rondel was to walk down to The Whistling Bird with a coffee cup and get coffee. This was so nice to sample another place I like before the sun is hitting the sea.
We have our breakfast.... now it open the presents time. The first gift is something she had wanted for some time.... The Natural Bra..Well ladies it’s not good, a ripoff, sold on TV.. I carried down 2 of these and my g’friend is attempting to put it on with no success. She was so disappointed I held her for some time and than it was ova’.
We get ready and were off to town to the Hi-lo for the week’s supplies.
No it’s not to the hi-lo it’s to the piercing place close to the Hi-lo.
I have greed to pay for a navel pearling for my friend.
We stop in the small 2 story mall, the shop is up stairs, the ladies is not there so we call and she’s on her way. Almost an hour later she shows up we agree on a price of $2000J. Now the selection process is started.
My friend selects a decorative stud and the process has begun.
The implement is a cross between sutures and a paper punch. The upper part of the belie button skin is pearsed and the stud is put in immediately.
It is painful but over quickly.
My G’friend is there also, dressed better than ever.
