One night we were walking to Mohagany Beach when they had the beach parties and my friend totally bit it on one of those curbs. She was alright and it was a good laugh. I know one day it might be me.

Oh how I miss those parties. I had one of my happiest night ever there, dancing with my guy encircled by all of his friends grinning foolishly at us like we were Barbie and Ken. <sigh>

Finally got to read the report (after your directions)...
Thank you for the kind words....I always say that 'to have a friend you have to be one'.
We were both experiencing some emotional turmoil on this trip. Very liberating for me and I suppose introspective for us both.I felt your pain and could not in all good conscience, abandon you. 'Time heals all wounds'.... This trip was a test for me and thanks to you and so many, I think I passed it with flying colors.
I so enjoyed our time together and you helped to make this a truly memorable trip for me.
I love Negril, but you now have me quite intrigued about 'Ochie' and I so look forward to a GFT trip...
and I know that I too have met a friend for Life. !!
And to all of Marilyn's friends......
She is a piece of work, ain't she?? (laughing)

I have very fond memories of that place too. I went there the night I got married...called it my wedding reception. Wish it were still happening.

My experience at Mahogney was my first real Jamaican party my first time off the compound of Ciboney and started my addiction for more.

Napi- Mendez is too precious is he not.

Mango- A friend of mine here in Memphis said the same thing. It would take Angie to tell you though how that dog looked at me, it melted my heart.

okay Marilyn, I finally finished reading yours (i just love all these trip reports) ... and you are alright Sister (and ya KNOW this right?). The same way you always take something from your experiences in JA, I take from your telling of them. It's almost like viewing a personal odyssey (and I don't just mean the actual trip). One of my favorite peeps. Thank you for stopping by. What I hope those who like to read our reports get from this quartet of reports is how four ladies can go on the same trip and report it from a personal point of view. It is interesting to see how Angie, Vi, Napi and I will report our experiences. Each fills in gaps for the other. Most interesting for me is finding out what Napi was thinking and feeling the whole time, as she and Lil Sis are introspective young women who do not chat a lot. With them, and Vi, (who I constantly ask "ARe you OK"), I am finding our what was going on in their heads.

As I read Napi's report now and feel her excitement in her words, I know that a lot of that silence was, she was just overwhelmed by Ochii. So much so that she could not express her awe while we were there.

So this is like a delayed thrill for me, reading their reports.

I am glad that you are enjoying all of them, because I sure am. Until the last one writes the last word, I am still in Jamaica.
