Jamaica's early morning show, massage at Jackie's, breakfast at Selina's, strolling on the beach...Angie and Marilyn - I believe all of that is part of what's ahead for our group...sounds soooo good. Thank you Shug for giving a soon-to-be-first-time-Negril-visitor a glimpse of what's to come in a few weeks!!

Sorry all, but school has only gotten worse I just looked at my schedule until July and I have at least a paper and a presentation(on top of normal school assignments) due every week. I even have a presentation on my birthday. Oh well, such is life.

Marilyn-It soon come(I've said this phrase B4)when?, but soon.

JAMiss-I love reading other people's report and knowing what they are seeing. One of the things that enjoy about all these trip reports is that it give me a mental image that, hopefully, someday I'll be able to match up with the real thing.

Mountaingal-Didn't hate the song...was just SURPRISED by the strong reaction of the crowd.

Thanks grandma and nattydreadgirl-You ain't never lied.

Soulhunter-My mess is still talking about you...Every weekend she is asking can she go to water and see you, wife and Kat. She just told me yesterday that ya'll were her friends and she liked you so much. Ohhhhh she's such a sweet mess.

StAnnMuse-I can't wait for you to go and experience it for yourself. You will have a wonderful time, esp. since you are going with Miss M.

Around 1:00 I went outside to find Tommy. He was right outside of the hotel, wearing the clothes he described. He told me to wait; he would go get his car from across the street. Tonya and Stacy came out and we were off to Jackie’s. The drive over was nice and this time I had a really good view of the Cliffs during the daytime. Tommy told me that he asked if I knew what he looked like because his picture was on his card….Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. The ride over to Jackie’s was interesting. First we were passing all these hotels, then the scenery changed and it was dry and desolate. It was a while before we passed another establishment on this long winding road. We finally arrived at Jackie’s and it wasn’t what I had expected. I always associate lushness with the Caribbean. This place had more of a desert feel to it. When we got to the gate we rang the bell and a lady, who reminded me of my cousin Joyce(same house slippers and all), came and let us in. We followed her thru a dark wood paneled corridor and were introduced to a different view of the ocean. All I can say is that this place is amazing. I already felt relaxed from the atmosphere and I haven’t been physically touched yet. There were large bamboo beds, rocking chairs and lounge chairs that looked over onto the ocean and a number of wind chimes. I loved one particular chime that was made of wood and made a deep guttural sound. The building is made of stone and fits very naturally into the surrounding environment. I took tons of photos and will let them tell the story. When we put our things down we decided that Tonya would go first, Stacy next, and me last. It was such a wonderful thing that I wanted to go last. I was able to absorb the atmosphere for 2 hours before I had my massage.

After Stacy was finished with her massage she joined me on the recliners. The recliners are placed in a shaded area and are facing the ocean. She told me that the massage was no joke. When they say deep tissue, they mean deep tissue. We decided to go lay on these nice lawn chairs. So far the sun had been playing it’s peekaboo game with the clouds. Right now it was hiding. It was so nice to hear the water crashing against the rocks and to feel the nice sea breeze. All of the sudden the sun decided to stop hiding and peaked its head from behind the clouds. We tried to stand it for a while, but the sun wasn’t having it. It popped back out and shined on us with all its glory. We ended up running back to the rockers before we were fried to death.

This little thatched hut is where the massage took place. Can you imagine being massaged as you hear the water crashing up against the rocks? Tranquil isn’t even the word for it!!!






I took this picture because I thought it was so interesting to see the history of the sea in the rocks all around us. In the rocks you could see imprints of coral and sea animals.

I’m only showing you a couple of these shots, but I have no idea how long I just stood off to the side of the property and watching the water smash up against the rocks. It was so relaxing I think it put me in a trance.

Look, it's my favorite tree at Jackie's! It was totally torn up during the hurricane last fall - in January it was tiny. In April it was growing, but look at it now!

Hey . . . I get it now. This is where the "relaxation" comes in, right?
