As we were walking back down the beach one of the waitress from Kuyuba motions to us. I tell the ladies that this is the restaurant that I told them about. When planning the trip we said that we would splurge on at least one night of food. I had heard good things about their food, but also heard that you could go in with flip-flops on….my kinda place. We enter inside the restaurant and I’m immediately impressed. It has a very nice layout and looks nice under the dim lights. First we order drinks. I ordered a dirty banana, because I’ve heard if you go to Negril you should get one. It was very good. I ordered Seafood Fettuccini Alfredo and a Chocolate Cake. I really wanted that cake, but wondered why it cost about 3 more dollars than the rest of the deserts. All I can say is- Yummmmmmmmm. That food was so great and the slice of cake was expensive because it was so huge. It was chocolate cake and icing with a river fudge running down the middle. I couldn’t even finish half of it. This was the first restaurant where I noticed the saltshakers. I’ve heard of adding rice to salt to absorb moisture, but there was so much rice you couldn’t get to the salt. Now I love the food Ted cooks for me, but the above pics just made my mouth water. May hafta splurge sometime in Negril and go there too Shuga.

My bill was wow-because usually the most I spend for dinner is $25, and that's on an occational basis. But it was so worth the money. That pasta was the best and I tasted Stacy's shrimp-Wow that was great too.

I hear you on your $$$$ bill. We usually only do a high ticket dinner one time a trip - the night we did Kuyaba, we did not have Kim along, we ordered a starter that we shared, B ate whatever and I hoped to share Matthew's SeaFood Pasta .... I got to wipe some sauce off the plate!! [img]/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img] he ate that well finished! Nevermind - we loved it as well!

The fettucini and the cake look so goooood. I think I will make shrimp fettucini alfredo sometime this weekend.

LET ME IN!!!

After we finished, we walked back down the street to the hotel. The street was alive-Cars are zipping by, honking and asking us for a ride. There were a lot more people on the street tonight. This is the first time that I heard this come-Ohh girl, Come here girl, You so strong, so strong. I just burst out laughing and kept walking. When we got to the front door of the apartment Tonya puts the key in the lock, but the door wouldn’t budge. I could also hear the cell phone ringing inside. We tried like a dozen times and the key wouldn’t budge. Let me mention that our room has 3 entrances and 3 different keys. We each have a key. Stacy pulls out her key, but that door is bolted on the inside. When we went out that evening we had gone through the door in my bedroom, which leads to the courtyard. I tried my key in the front door and it still won’t budge. Tonya thinks that she may have bolted it from the inside. We go around the building and try the lock that leads into my bedroom. It will not budge. I try my key, which is supposed to be the universal key-nada. We are all standing around the door fussing with the keys when a hotel employee walks by. We tell her of our dilemma and she tells us that she will send someone to help us. Luckily there are chairs on the little deck that surrounds the back door. We sit down. I’m all hopeless in my head, but I know this door should open since we exited through it. A lady comes over with a bunch of keys. She wants to try the front door first. She inserts a number of keys and nothing works. The lock seems to turn over but the door doesn’t budge. I tell her that we think that the bolt is on the door. When she goes toward the second door, I tell her that I know that the bolt is on that door. We go back to the door outside my bedroom and she uses all of our keys and all of her keys. In my mind, I’m thinking-we are never gonna get in this door tonight. The entire time that we are outside of the door I can hear the cell phone ringing over and over again. A male employee comes over and tries to open the door using all the keys and all our keys. I’m just rolling my eyes checking off the Jungle as one of my events for the evening. The male employee says that he is going to get some DW40. The female employee assures us that everything will be Ok and if they can’t open the door they will set us up in another room. Tonya goes-Oh No! We have to get into the room and get our stuff. I’m still fatalistic in my mind thinking-Well I want the room with the TV in the next apt. Finally the guy comes back and couldn’t find the DW40. The female employee goes and gets hers from the front desk. Time is just ticking away and that darn cell phone is still ringing. After a while the door finally opens. YEAH!! We all jump up. I grab my purse and get some money to tip both the male and female employee for their help and thank them like 5 times. After they leave I go into the living room and tell the girls that we have missed 38 calls. OMG-I burst out laughing-Youth! Anyway, you can guess that while I’m holding the phone it rings. It’s 250. I tell him that we left the phone in the room while we went to dinner. I tell him that we are going to still go to the Jungle but that we need a nap. He agrees to call us back at 11:00 to wake us up. All I remember after that is pulling my clothes off and falling on top of the covers.
