Relationships are a precious and delicate thing. You and your mother's relationship touches my heart in a particular way and for my own particular reasons.

Seveen.. to me MamaSoul looks like MammaSoul - i picked her out right away and always Napi's mom and sister - you know that they are all family.

glad you guys are liking it! i keep telling Napi i took everything from my moms. i don't think i look anything like my dad, but she insists i do. i'll have to scan in a pic of pop dukes to see what you guys think. i'll say this though; it was universal throughout the entire trip that people thought Mr. G could have been my father!

The Big Day!

Let’s Roll!

It’s Saturday, January 14th and the day has arrived. There are too many thoughts running through my head, all having to do with Napi, the baby, and the significance of this day on the rest of my life, and yet for some strange reason the only thing of concern is…will I have to dance! You see my friends, the kid has no skills on the dance floor. Wanna go shooting? I’m real good at that! Wanna play some soccer? I’m decent enough that you will at least think of passing the ball to me. Wanna play some football (Yankee style)? I hit like Ronnie Lott! But dancing…it’s like watching that Asian kid from American Idol. You admire the attempt, but desperately you want him to stop… That’s me – I’m the William Hung of dancing…

With thoughts of She Bangs! floating through my mind, we head down to join the folks for breakfast. We miss out on the Jamaican stuff (which happened to be in the restaurant behind us… [img]/forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif[/img]) and instead find ourselves stuck with traditional American fare. Live and learn, but we make up our minds right then and there that some more ackee & saltfish must be found before we depart. At about $13 a can here in DC, ackee isn’t exactly a staple in the NapiSoul household, so it’s a must have when we touch down in J.A. We’ve been in Jamaica now for three days now and we haven’t touched salt water yet! Time to find the beach!
