Oh boundie.. i told you this before... i hated that shower.. and everything being soaked in there.... toilet paper damp through..... and no ac.. which is not always important to me.. but if its real hot.. gets stuffy..

it's a great laid back yard..love where you grab coffee...and awesome spot on the beach...

im still shocked though that when offered an air-conditioned room you left... for so short a time.. why bother.... i think i might have killed red at that point huffing up the road... but i guess he just didnt like the place period...

oh the joys for a surprise weekend...

As nice as the staff and the grounds were, I couldn't stay there anymore [img]/forums/images/graemlins/70388-shameonyou.gif[/img], with ac or without. The bathroom issue was enough for me. Boundie left out a lot of information, the bathroom had no shower curtain, after a quick shower it looked as if someone had stuck a firehose in there and flooded the place. And whoever had the great idea to slope the floor 30 degrees downward from the entry to the shower drain, then use smooth tiles, then have no shower curtain so the entire floor gets soaked must have been smoking something.

How I didn't slip on the tiles and bust something is beyond me.

And another thing, the mattress and the sheets on the bed looked as if they were the same ones that had been there since the hotel first opened. The sheets were so thin I could see through them. Free or not, I wasn't comfortable, so I left. They have a great chef, diner was excellent, they have a nice spot of beach, the staff was friendly but the accomodations were not my cup of tea. Things were a little to spartan for my liking. No matter how many times Boundie told me the hotel was economically friendly, or a real get away from the noice of life, I wasn't going to change my mind.

Still, I can't thank Boundie enough for the trip. It was completely unexpected and, after the shock wore off, a wonderful idea. I never knew she could keep a secret so well, and mange to involve my entire office as well. But then again, she managed to take those pics of me walking up the highway without my knowing too. Saying Boundie keeps me on my toes would be an understatement.

You all think she is a great story teller, you should try living with her, never a moments peace. Sometimes I wonder what kind of expedition she will have just getting the mail. [img]/forums/images/graemlins/704555_dwl.gif[/img]

The problem with being married to an architect is that when a floor is sloped 30 feet the wrong way, or whatever, I have to hear about the poor design for the next year and how he is amazed some drunk kids haven't fallen and busted their faces open.

Still I have to stick by my guns on this one. Overall I liked the bird. [img]/forums/images/graemlins/70409-waytogo.gif[/img] I don't know the arrangement or deal that Xavier has worked out with the hotels that partcipate in the 3 free nights give-a-way, and I can't be anything but grateful that we were given the opportunity to take advantage of it. [img]/forums/images/graemlins/70409-waytogo.gif[/img] [img]/forums/images/graemlins/70409-waytogo.gif[/img] I appreciate that we were invited to stay at the bird, I just wished it worked out better for Red. However, I can't blame Red either. He really wasn't happy. I am not kidding, once he gets to that point, there isn't anything that can be done, couple that with the lack of sleep and it can't possibly turn out good. He wanted to leave and I wanted him to enjoy himself so that is what we did.

Milo- To say he was on a mission would be an understatement. I was literally running to keep up with him. I could barely slow down enough to take a focused picture. Funny that you say you would have done the same thing. Do you think if your wife had begged you to stay at the bird you would have?

Nanook- Lawd a gosh! The smell was rank!! Thank God I had years of working with chickens at the USDA, I can handle just about any smell as a result. Still, I wouldn’t blame you if you puked. RL- Trust me RL, there is an art to wearing a fancy dress, a Sunday hat and gloves, walk to church, without breaking a sweat. I swear, living with Red is like have a personal heat rock. All those years soaking up the Island Sun has certainly helped on a cold winter night!
