wanda, the first time i saw those plains (about 18 years ago), i was rendered speechless. it was just after Gilbert, in November I think and we were headed into Pike, but from the St. Elizabeth side, going through Balaclava. the recent rains had made the plains a lush and beautiful green - not the orangey shade in this pic which was taken in the dry season. i had never seen anything like it before in Jamaica, and would never have believed this kind of scenery would be there. and i grew up near there, go figure.
Jamaica is a land of great secret beauty, in addition to the usual well-known ones.
