Sweetpotatopi led the countdown. Since July 06, I’d been decorating her desk with random phrases that we hear in Jamaica and other memorable words and title like, Wildthing, Rice & Peas, LAX-MBJ, 3-Dives, CoCo Bread and Yeah Mon to name a few. It was a conversation piece to say the least [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/crazy.gif[/img].

I went on a cruise in February but all I could think about was Jamaica in April . I wished that I would have traded that week in for an additional week in Ja.

April rolled around and one of us didn’t have a passport yet [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/mad.gif[/img]. Fortunately Wandabe gave me a stick to beat her with. The week before our vacation, Choclit received her emergency passport [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/bannana_purple.gif[/img].




We were leaving out on April 13th….a Friday on Air Jamaica. If anything would blow our trip, it would be this batch of fortune. And for the first time, I didn’t receive a phone call from Air Jamaica the day I was leaving, all was going well [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/70384-praying.gif[/img] [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/70458-applaud.gif[/img].

Friday the 13th

The plan was to be at the airport by 8pm, flight leaves at around 10:40pm. I know that was early, but better safe than sorry, plus I knew we could use a lil cushion with time. Sweetpotatopi was the first to arrive. The line was short for her and breezed right on through. I got there around 8:20pm. I didn’t see anyone else, oh boy, the adventure begins [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/rolleyes.gif[/img]....

At 8:30pm I looked at the line again and spotted Choclit [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/70458-applaud.gif[/img] [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/70458-applaud.gif[/img]. We both saw a sign that said that check-in closes one hour before departure. Hopefully we’ll make it to the front in time. We didn’t breeze through like Sweetpoatopi. We got out of the line close to 9:30 and we never saw our newbie [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/70402-thinking.gif[/img] [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/70394-bawlout.gif[/img]

Four minus One

While waiting for our boarding time, Choclit got in touch with Roe. The counter was closed by the time she arrived. Then we heard “She said she’ll see us on Sunday” That sounded like light years away.


We were very excited to meet our new friend. Although me and Sweetpotatopi hadn’t met her yet, we chatted by since she decided to join us.

The Meet and Greet

To celebrate sisterhood and happy travels, we had a meet and greet at Lady Effie’s Tea Parlour in Los Angeles.
An emergent obligation came up and we didn’t get a chance to meet her that day.
