just jump in the first thing rolling to Negril

I ate the whole thing

Our driver stopped to get fruit after leaving the airport. He asked if we wanted a banana. I felt bold and thought I’d try it. Since everything tastes better in Jamaica, why should a banana taste like it does at home. See I like the flavor of banana, but I don’t like the taste so I’ve never eaten a whole banana or as much as a quarter of one. I took the plunge [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/eek2.gif[/img]!

On the way

I sleepily took pictures on the way to Negril or by the looks of it, three pictures. Since I always take pictures on the way, I take some of the drive time to sleep. Choclit threatened my life if I posted her “I just woke up” picture. The stunna shade clad Sweetpotatopi is always divalicious even when she’s trying not to be [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif[/img].

Arriving so early on a Saturday morning, nothing was open [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cry.gif[/img]. But that didn’t stop our driver from trying to take care of us [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif[/img]. We needed to get phone cards and stop at a store. If we got these things at the start we could properly recoup from our flight without having to make any additional afternoon runs. He was so sweet. All stores were closed so he took us by a few places that his friends run [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/70459-idea.gif[/img]. Still no luck, we were actually okay with going back out later on, but he was determined. We told him it was okay and we headed to Seasplash.

Our rooms weren’t ready yet so we headed to the bar at the hosts suggestion. Who are we to say no [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/704555_dwl.gif[/img]. Walking along the pathway to the bar and seeing all the familiar faces [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wavey.gif[/img]with their warm smiles and hugs made us feel like we’d never left from our last visit [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/yahoo.gif[/img].

Natasha, our bartender knew what we wanted and how we wanted it served. Rum punch and make it strong, maybe a lil less strong for the first one.

One down

Sweetpotatopi’s room was the first one ready. We put our bags in her room and she retired for the afternoon. Me and Choclit returned to the bar.

Soon after check-in I received a call from a coworker’s cousin . He was coming to the States for the first time and would be on the return flight home with us. I guess waiting a week to meet us would’t work. He called to say that he was on his way to Negril [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/eek2.gif[/img] and that he was about an hour away.

They met us at the bar while we continued to wait for our rooms. We hadn’t been in Negril 3 hours before we had to start entertaining company.

After almost 4 hours of rum punches, my room, the last room was ready. Fortunately we had entertained enough and after touring the grounds of the hotel, our company felt pity on us and let us get settled in and chill out. We sad our goodbyes walked them out and retired to our rooms.

When the sun was ready to set Choclit and Sweetpotatopi were in their rooms sleep. I was determined to see a sunset. I did, but at the expense of sand fly bites on my legs and ankles (I'll spare you from seeing those yucky pictures). I didn’t know this until the next morning. I think I forgot to spray my towel when I kicked back on the lounge chair.

After swatting at my ankles I decided to call it a wrap and went back to my room. I figured I should rest up a lil bit, we were going to the twisting by the pool party at Seastar later on.
